The FA is so #bentasfuck they decided to change the name rather than follow the rules that charity events need to say how much revenue actually goes to charity
Well done to City. Pep has spent around half a billion to achieve what he has this season With very little generated from transfers. So FFP aside, he’s delivered. Nobody will remember the routes to the final and how he could rest key players for the league title, while they swatted away lower league opposition time after time. You can only beat what’s in front of you is the old saying and they did; emphatically. They’ve etched themselves into the record books and I can’t see it happening again quickly - nobody will get that kind of luck in the draws again for an age.
You need both luck and a very good team for a great season. They had both. Tbf we had that too. City is one of those teams that been well put together. Great balance of youth and experience. Kompany has just announced that he is leaving .
Ex-Arsenal player Denis Bergkamp is in search of a football academy job in England. He worked in a similar role at Ajax before leaving last season. Bergkamp admits being heavily influenced in his philosophy by Johan Cruyff. i would love to see him at our academy, thoughts.
sadly probably true, hope our owners and klopp can see the potential in it though, i get players want to join as maybe in future can play under klopp, but if you have an academy manager players look up to (gerrard etc) it might be a huge pull for players. also be the philosophy of playing style for us.
I'd need to look at his actual record in Ajax though... is he responsible for their improvement or not. inglethorpe is in charge at kirkby and does from my perspective an "ok" job. just ok. we've bought 95% of talent. but we've several decent young local players too. ki = bought. someone did that Duncan = poached. someone did that.
Roy Keane: ''You look at Matthijs de Ligt, he’s captaining Ajax at 19 years old earning a modest wage. Meanwhile Rashford is scoring 10 goals a season, killing disabled fans in wheelchairs with his free kicks earning £100k & Lingard is earning £120k to be an Instagrammer.” Savage!!
BBC did a good article on this earlier in the season. I think it found City and Arsenal the worst culprit in fudging the attendance figures. Not sure why @Diego is on the wind up, you can see City playing big champions league ties and empty seats dotted around. As for us, they can only go as high as the capacity
