well as PJ said no one had a good tournament though Aidy Boothroyd as manager seemed like an odd appointment to me even before the finals. There seemed little in the way of organisation just an idea to pass the ball even if no pass was on on top of which selection seemed fairly random.
I was just pointing out that Wan Bissaka doesn't have much experience for the price tag. I have no idea about his quality as a player. You used Alisson for comparison but I don't think it was a good comparison because he had lots of first team experience (plus Brazil experience) when we bought him. And none of it was in Portugal
His quality is obvious when you watch the lad closely. Very young, not quite the finished article yet, but not a gamble imo.
The only thing I know is he was very unfairly sent off against us. I don't recall how well he played up to that point. I just think he doesn't have the experience yet for anyone to know how it will turn out. I also think every signing is a gamble.
50m is a lot for awb. He does have all the raw minerals but still for a relatively untested rb. He was defending alright in a palace side but you need more than that at a big club and he didnt seem brilliant going forward. He does have blistering pace though. As for one season wonders and big fees. Ederson? Andy carroll (half a season in the prem) Glen johnson Robben Davinson sanchez
AWB - looks very solid defensively but hopeless going forward. If united can develop that part of his game, then they’re onto a winner.
I didn't say the lad was a one season wonder if that's what you are referring to. I said he has only played one full season in total at senior level.
I agree. All players at this level are talented or they wouldn't be playing there in the first place. Then we're talking about levels of talent. Some very talented players have got lost in the game. As always it's a wait and see situation.
i know what you mean mate, quite worrying in this day and age you can have a decent season, or half decent at best, and you go for silly money and on silly wages. thank **** everyone doesn't want to be a footballer
Yeah sorry wrong terminology i know what you meant. All those players i listed made big moves after i think one main season (i think)
Only issue is if he can step up. Seen Zaha go there and fail and take 4/5 years to realise that potential and now get close to a big move again. Lot of pressure on the kid and the money only makes that pressure bigger. Obviously has good potential and he can’t be any worse than Ashley Young though so decent buy for thrm
Yes, but top drawer talent stands out even at PL level. There’s always the danger they can make bad life choices off the field or stop putting in the graft, but those caveats aside this lad has the talent and imo he’ll be a hit
