Rooney: Liverpool title win a nightmare Wayne Rooney says he cannot bear the thought of Liverpool winning the Premier League title this season
uh 2 less games as we played one last weekend. they have one game from semi final. I hope the ****ing implode
They have also played more games due to going deeper into the domestic cups which will cause fixture congestion. Should favour Liverpool.
2 whole games... reality is off have pulled a dolly cl draw so both clubs should have 4 cl games.min.... so city only need 2 games with their reserves. the reality is it's going to be down to spurs and Utd and cheslea games.
no and no. It's down to spurs and Utd as the cl final and fa cup final are post leagie season city have spurs and juve we would have Porto and Barca the only hard games city have left are.spurs and utd
So they have played more domestic games and look set to play more CL games. Plus have the more difficult fixtures upcoming.
It will be about tiredness and concentration for them. If they play anywhere their ability they will win both. Hard for me to say but Sterling is their main man playing world class football. He plays well City Win. Simple.
it's not about players par se it's about squad and peps incessant demands to trash everyone or you are dropped. I feel that zinchenko has been huge for them but pep didn't rate him for so long... the reality is city put in mahrez and Jesus etc and can win. that's why I say their easier games at this point in season should be an absolute procession. this league race is down to spurs and Utd. lfc cannot rest anyone and need to grind through 7 league games with 7 wins. alisson vvd fabinho mane are the spine we have to rely on now. taa Robertson are where chances will come from firmino and salah are where the title will be won or lost.. their form isn't enough before now. that leaves Matip, Milner and windy..... or Lovren or gomez or Henderson or maybe ox later on... or Keita... we've got players but we can't rely on them right now for various reasons. the rest have to carry Matip and carry windy in away games and have to accept the good and bad with Milner.
Fewer games, yes. Easier run, no Average league position of remaining 7 games is 11.9 Average league position of City's remaining 8 games is 12.6
Klopp: We have a wonderful base - now it's time to use it Jürgen Klopp has spoken throughout the season of the plan to create a base for the run-in – and now, he says, is the time for Liverpool to use it. As excitement has steadily grown about the possibilities of this campaign, with the Reds beaten only once in 31 Premier League fixtures and into the Champions League quarter-finals, the manager reiterated his focus on laying foundations rather than looking to the future. That building process is now behind them, however, and the new target is clearly stated: Klopp’s side want to capitalise fully on the ‘wonderful’ position they have put themselves in. We are now in the final weeks and there will be no interruption anymore, there will only be game after game after game and they all are very, very important. “On the one side, opponents fight for the Champions League spots, and on the other they will fight [to stay in] the league. “I think only Wolves in the last match, they are not fighting for Champions League and not fighting for staying in the league, but we all see what shape they are in – and they can go to the FA Cup final, so that’s exciting for them. But these are our opponents. “Champions League, we don’t have to talk about that because they are all finals, each game is a final. Hopefully we can stay in that competition for a while. “We created a wonderful base, now let’s use it.” Klopp's update on Alexander-Arnold and Shaqiri injuries Boss on Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Salah fitness Preparations for the run-in, which begins when Tottenham Hotspur visit Anfield in the Premier League this Sunday, are already well under way at Melwood. Klopp will have a full complement of fit players available from Thursday to further fine-tune the strategy to face a Spurs side the Reds defeated 2-1 at Wembley earlier in the season. And though the boss understands the benefits an international break can provide for those not on duty with their countries, he revealed the anticipation to regroup this week. “Absolutely [it’s good to be back]. Really, we were waiting pretty much for it,” he said. “It is nice to have a little bit of a rest in between, but on the other hand you want to keep it going in a situation like that – we won three games in one week and could have played pretty much the next day. “Now we are back, the boys are coming step by step back as well, so from Thursday on I think we will be complete. “With all players together, of course, the Dutch ones, the Brazilians, together in complete training. But preparation has started today already. “We don’t have all the players who are away, but we have all the other players as well. Bringing players back, step by step. OK, Shaq and Trent are still doing a bit of rehab, but the others are here and in good shape. Two sessions today and then one session a day. “All good and we’re really looking to this period now.” please log in to view this image https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/343181-jurgen-klopp-liverpool-run-in-interview
70% chance city win all remaining games 20% chance of a draw 10% chance of more than 1 draw LFC need to show urgency and intensity as a minimum is all remaining games. need 8 wins Nightmare scenario = city quadruple Dream scenario = LFC double. All we can do is apply pressure
Their longest win streak this season so far is 7 in a row. Their average is 5 in a row. For them to win all remaining games they would need to have won 14 in a row. That's double the best they've done all season. Going on averages they're most likely to drop points in two of their remaining games. There again, so are we. If we can win 6 of our last 7 fixtures it will most likely be enough.
Yes but it's the business end and as I've said there's really only spurs and Utd games thst I would class as tough for them. Just pick which two games city are going to draw/lose and why...
