You should only be allowed to change manager during the transfer window. Now there is an idea, though Watford could still change twice a year.
Alan Shearer has had his say on our players: WhoScored went one better: What's come over the pundits?
Three players from bottom of league side. In the eyes of the pundits we seem to have 3 outstanding players in a team which is presently failing.
Not sure about Shearer, but WhoScored evaluates the contributions of every player in every match then compares the ratings to arrive at the team of the week. Here's our current player averages:
a. It is only Shearer's ratings of players who played last weekend. Where do you get "outstanding players" from? b I am surprised you attach so much importance to what Shearer and his cronies on MOTD have to say. c. You say a "failing " team, I prefer an "improving "team . Have you watched any games live or do you always just follow the games on the BBC website ?
This is really a case of results orientation in many people. Normann's rating is higher because he's only played in our last 3 matches, but in the first two, only for 70 minutes. He and Kabak still have further improvement to come and that could make a big difference. Hanley and others who have played in all 7 matches had to suffer the Liverpool and ManCity heavy defeats which lowered their overall ratings. Over the same last 3 matches as Normann's 7.46, Hanley's average is 7.57 and most of the other players would also have higher ratings over those matches, which is another indication of our recent overall improvement. As the new players bed in we need to turn that overall improvement into results if we are to survive and that's the next challenge starting with Brighton after the break.
