Borja to Villa? Swansea City striker Borja Baston is set to join Aston Villa on a free transfer. Borja, a £15.5m signing from Atletico Madrid in 2016, has struggled for game-time this season and will be allowed to leave by Swansea because of his sizeable wages. The 27-year-old’s Liberty Stadium contract was due to expire this summer. Borja started this campaign by scoring five goals in five matches but lost his place in Steve Cooper’s side in the autumn. He had travelled to Preston with the rest of Swansea’s squad this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s Championship game with Preston, but is now on his way to Villa. Borja’s exit is likely to see under-23 striker Liam Cullen promoted to Cooper’s first-team squad. Swansea are also expected to offload Barrie McKay on loan before tonight’s transfer deadline with Fleetwood interested in the winger.
8 mins 57 secs......my scarf Tosh had round his neck when interviewed by Des. After the interview I asked him for it back....he said they don't ask that at Liverpool.....I replied.....you are not at Liverpool now Tosh......I got my scarf
Evening all safe journey to those travelling, we are far more hospitable than those tools at Stoke, for boozers @pnepolice on Twitter is good for were to go, don’t forget as we are out of the EU there will be no food available ever again
I was listening to the game on the radio laying old spare house carpet into the back of my Mk 1 cortina estate ( as we did in them days)
Well as it stands at the moment McKay and Baston gone no replacements from outside although we were told there would be...so SC can now have the young squad of kids that he can control apart from Ayew and Routs....feeling a bit le5 down now and hoping that th3 trip up north tomorrow doesn’t end in another drubbing...it’s a long way for ....all!
Cheers was there last year and spend two lovely years just around the corner in Fulwood ,great memories for many reasons
Joe Rodon makes his first start since returning from injury as one of two changes to the Swansea City starting line-up at Preston. Rodon comes into the heart of the Swans defence alongside Marc Guehi, featuring from the off for the first time since the home meeting with Brentford in October. The other change also comes in the Swansea defence, with Kyle Naughton back from illness as Connor Roberts misses out with the shoulder injury he suffered at Stoke. Steve Cooper’s side are otherwise unchanged from the loss to the Potters, with Freddie Woodman in goal behind a back four of Naughton, Guehi, Rodon and Jake Bidwell. Captain Matt Grimes again lines up alongside George Byers and Conor Gallagher in the Swansea midfield, while Andre Ayew and Bersant Celina occupy the flanks. Rhian Brewster leads the line for the visitors, while in-form under-23s' striker Liam Cullen is among the substitutes. The home side include former Swan Scott Sinclair in their starting line-up following his January arrival from Celtic. Preston North End: Declan Rudd, Darnell Fisher, Ben Pearson, Ben Davies, Alan Browne (captain), Daniel Johnson, Joe Rafferty, Patrick Bauer, Tom Barkhuizen, Josh Harrop, Scott Sinclair. Substitutes: Connor Ripley, Tom Clarke, Ryan Ledson, Brad Potts, David Nugent, Jayden Stockley, Sean Maguire. Swansea City: Freddie Woodman; Kyle Naughton, Marc Guehi, Joe Rodon, Jake Bidwell; Matt Grimes (captain), George Byers, Conor Gallagher; Andre Ayew, Rhian Brewster, Bersant Celina. Substitutes: Erwin Mulder, Ben Wilmot, Ben Cabango, Jay Fulton, Yan Dhanda, Wayne Routledge, Liam Cullen.
