Sickening to lose so late, but considering the players missing and the fatigue for the international players it was a good performance. Very impressed with Mumba, Omobamidele, and Quintilla considering how little match play they've had. Great goal by Emi and Pukki could have had a hat trick on another day, but fatigue could have been a factor. Sorensen also looked good in the Skipp role but a deflected shot for the equaliser undid it all.
On the bright side we didn't lose and our unbeaten run is now 11. Had we taken our chances we would have been out of sight by half time.
So sorry we did not win but when you are top of the championship you are more likely to have players on international duty - so this one we have to take on the proverbial chin!
Andy was brilliant today gutted for him not getting his first clean sheet in that manner we conceded. Mumba was class too
Meanwhile Swansea have just lost 1-0 at Birmingham. Snap Dunc. Also posted on 'Today's Games'. Swansea commentator was livid about the penalty being given in extra time - their defender 'just fell down and happened to knock over the Birmingham player'. Not his fault and not fair.
This game sort of reminded me of a game we had in the height of the injury crisis earlier on in the season against Coventry when everyone was knackered and we only had one first team player on the bench. At least we had a few more fitter players this time, but the more it wore on I thought fresh legs from the opposition would get a chance to equalise. I'm becoming a Huddersfield supporter today!
Yes, it did feel like that ZK. The consolation was the performance of Omobamidele and Mumba. That also reminded me of the early appearances of Godfrey and Aarons as a new generation emerges. It was also good to see Sorenson and Quintilla having good games as well. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/teen-so-proud-after-first-start-for-city-7870022
Ben HD is a Preston fan and also has a You Tube channel. He's recently published a review of round 39. His comments about the game are interesting and start at 7.37. In summary his view is that had Pukki shown more clinicality in front of goal we would have won the game comfortably.
