That good players leave is a natural progression
    Especially when money is short,
And in such a cash-orientated profession
There´s no place for a second thought

Pritchard will be just the first of a few
This window, to fly on their way,
Maddison also, will seek pastures new
As vultures come circling the prey

All a quite natural sequence of things
    Once promotion chances had gone,
And when the ´End of the Jan Sales´ bell rings
With those left, we´ll try to move on

That was the plan this regime had in mind
    When taking charge last summertime,
And without wishing to appear that unkind
They gave up then, all hopes of a climb

This project, if they can stay the whole course
Which I have doubted from day one,
Will take years and years of planning and resource
If ultimate success is to be won

I am not holding my breath, I must say
Of things coming right in the end,
The odds are so stacked against, in this day
For such a big wound to mend.

Or in other words, "It's inevitable our better players will move on at some point".
That was quick and painless - and a mere two (2) lines long

Yes, but two (2) mind-numbingly boring lines, which do nothing to lift the artistic and cultural level of this site <laugh>

By the way, I suppose you still think we should be walking this division? <doh>

    But it's a football forum!
Football - as incongruous with art and culture as it's possible to get.
But whatever turns you on, I guess.
And no - a big, fat resounding NO.
As things stand and based on who (if anyone :( ) we bring in, I think we currently sit exactly where we deserve to sit in the table. And won't move too far from there if all our prize assets are disposed off for decent dollar and replaced on the cheap.
We're back to the bad old days of the Chase era - all that great work done by Lambert, assisted by McNally seems like a joyous dream, not an actual one time reality. <wah>

Nonsense! - football is an art, or at least it´s supposed to be, <laugh>

Well well, so poetry has no place on a football forum but endless praise of Croatia or what birds can be spotted on a country walk is fine!

I much prefer a well structured verse myself and I am clever enough not to read the threads I have no interest in.

Please continue to publish your beautiful poetry sir.

If you care to delve through the archives to find reference to either recently, be my guest.
But you may be sometime - nor do I start a new thread every time, if it happens it leads on from a holiday thread or a country walks / pubs / wildlife topic already in progress.
But you continue to enjoy your 'beautiful :emoticon-0112-wonde poetry' - along with the one or two others who bother to reply to these "artistic & cultural " :emoticon-0102-bigsm threads.

I'm happy with both. I don't understand why people get so het up over it.

I'd say you have just scored an own goal, if RBF starts a new thread each time, you know full well to avoid it, whereas you tagging onto other threads gives us no warning.

Nor me gandy, but I have to say, it´s not PEOPLE, it´s really only ever been Cromer who kicks up a fuss, with an occasional flap from Donuts now and again. I´ve become both used, and immune to it. :)

Incidentally, I´ve never put them on, with a view to getting replies, or to getting acknowledgement or praise, I can live perfectly happily without any of those, so your :emoticon-0102-bigsm is entirely wasted. If some people enjoy them, then great, if they don´t, then who cares - I enjoy writing them, which has always been three-quarters of the motivating factors behind them, at least they are football-related, which in my book more than qualifies them for a place on this forum.

Thank you Melchy, but not really, just perfectly happy and content with life. :)

Bristol City 4 (at least) - 0 Norwich today methinks, and a little bit more for Webber/Farke to explain their way out of. <whistle>

Your thoughts on yesterday's result RBF .......
IMO, we played well and probably deserved our victory, though it took a 'worldly' from Gunn to secure all 3 points. Once again I thought we played as a team and my main concern is that was how we were playing before our trip to the Emitrates.
Let's hope it's not a case of 'Deja Vu!!!' <yikes>
PS - I don't really expect us to win on Wednesday and I'm hoping we don't lose by more than a couple of goals ......

Morning JM - Yep, I thought I was probably doing us all a favour by tipping a landslide Robins win <laugh>. Great result, and not by any means un-Norwich-like, but quite where we´d be without your favourite Avatar, I´m not sure, seems to me imperative that we hold onto him, at least in this window.

I REALLY hope he does a 'Huckerby' and disobeys his agent so that he's still at CR come May (or even beyond!!)
