I know it's too early, but I want to know your recommendations very much I doubt whether Torquator Tasso has a ticket to win again. Does French get another humiliating round? And, I want to find a dark horse because Japanese people buy their horse. I could buy a last year's Champion 110↑odds!
“Being stentorian.” ….. Most of the blokes in my local pub wouldn’t know what that means, so they’d just call you a loudmouth and tell you to get the next round in.
So you are looking for a dark horse. It's not one on my short list but, if you are one of those who think Desert Crown is a wonder horse and would have won this doing handstand, you just have to dismiss one bad run (his only run on fast ground) to conclude that 16/1 Westover is too big Epsom Derby "Sweating, midfield on inner, pushed along and headway over 3f out, prominent when hampered then not clear run repeatedly from over 2f out, switched right and in the clear over 1f out, hung left but ridden and ran on well inside final furlong, not recover (jockey said colt was denied a clear run) (op 33/1)" Clearly unfancied at that price and ridden by Rob Hornby, who rides on Sunday Irish Derby "Travelled strongly, soon briefly disputed lead, raced in second soon after start, joined leader going easily under 3f out, led when ridden over 2f out, soon went clear, stayed on and went further clear inside final furlong, impressive (tchd 5/4)"
You can be proud of your stentorian voice. Google advises me it stems from a warrior who fought at Troy. Stentorian, "extremely loud; having a powerful voice," comes from Greek Sténtōr (inflectional stem Sténtor-), the name of a Greek (more properly Achaean) warrior who fought at Troy. For myself, I always thought I sounded like Bud Flanagan.
Adayar to miss Arc in favour of Champion Stakes: Charlie Appleby has revealed that Adayar will not run in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on Sunday and will instead be rerouted to British Champions Day where he will take on Baaeed in a mouth-watering clash in the Champion Stakes. Source: ATR
The final field for the Arc is starting to look even more confusing... Vadeni could be a late non-runner if the ground goes too soft but current weather forecasts suggests that will not be the case. Verry Elleegant may not make the field unless some others drop out as she has only managed to achieve an official rating of 113 in her two French races and could get balloted out as the maximum field is 20. With Adayar dropping out at the second forfeit stage, the top rated horse in the race looks like being Japan’s Titleholder just ahead of Mishriff, Luxembourg and Vadeni. There looks set to be four Japanese runners and only seven or eight French.
Am glad I decided to wait until the day of the race. Don't know if it will help as it's all very confusing, to put it mildly. Various trainers and connections are making absolute mugs of a few Arc ante-post punters, I'm sure. Shame on them. Rightly or wrongly, am thoroughly fed-up with it all at the moment. Hope I'll feel better on Arc day!
If Aidan O'Brien really wants to dominate Arc, he may make "Fleet" by sending in 2-3 his horses or some his son's horses. However, this year he came to Arc with Luxembourg. No one helps him. And also, winning ChampionS isn't strong factor because he was too light to lose in this race.

Brief weather forecast Paris area for this weekend: Saturday: Light breeze and drizzle. Sunday:....Light breeze and light rain showers.
The sun is shining* here and the going at Longchamp has changed from very soft to soft. Forecast for Longchamp. Should Adayar have been taken out? * As at this afternoon. But still warm and no rain
Have just about made my choice for the Arc (don't all rush!). Only slight personal alteration is regarding last year's winner doing the double and my resulting penance, have changed the song title to "Run rabbit, run rabbit, run run run.......". Regardless, I'll still be led-away pronto!
All the best for Sunday, Ron, hope everything goes as planned and you have a great day! See if you can 'eyeball' the eventual winner in the pre-race parade ring. Racehorses know, you know. Good luck!
