One of andy's clues was 'not a Watford player yet at the time', so I doubt it.

Not Gerry Armstrong, no. The holiday destination was a very long way east of Northern Ireland. The holiday destination will help a lot, honest.

Belfast is about three and a half thousand miles east west of the player's holiday destination.

EDITED: Sorry :emoticon-0111-blush. Mixed it up.

    Something isn't right here.
If Belfast is 3500 miles east if this wondrous holiday destination, it's US or Caribbean.
But the holiday destination is ALSO Avery long way EAST of Belfast.
As the world is neither flat, nor 7000 miles in circumference at 'normal holiday latitudes, could we have some clarification please ?
And just to divert attention, was it the legendary genius whose name I forget but was known as 'pineapplehead' for reason that was plainly obvious? Jason...

    Whoops, JT, sorry. :emoticon-0111-blush

The holiday destination is 3500 miles east of Belfast, not the other way round.

Correct, brian. He was on holiday in Israel when he found out in an English newspaper that his transfer to Udinese had fallen through because he had apparently failed the medical.

The record company clue was Rocket, as in his nickname and SEJ's record company.

    All yours, brian. :)

Not really sure that I understand the whole question - but, at that time, there weren't too many stars in the team. Maybe Steve Palmer?

Is this anything to do with the pseudonym 'Luther Blissett' - which also was a multi use name informally adopted and shared by artists and activists, which has nothing to do with our Luther, apart from the name ?
