You know, I can’t stand most modern car designs. I think they are so generic. Audi think they’re cool but the big German manufacturers (I mean BMW, Audi, Mercedes) produce the most boring designs. There is no cachet to them. But Jags have retained that largely, I think. I’m in my fifties, and I thought I was beyond finding a new car exciting, but the F-type is a super design and for me harks back to the days when I would want a car to be something other than an A to B machine.

We’re in danger of hijacking this one, duggie, shall we continue this in the Nest?

What unusual occurrence first happened in Sweden in 1712 then in the USSR in 1930 and 1931, but hasn't happened since?

    Well that didn't take long!!
I'm not sure why it happened in Sweden, but in the USSR it was part of a thankfully failed experiment to cut seven day weeks into five day weeks, and have twelve thirty day 'working' months each year.

    Over to you.

Skilly Williams? Record appearances for a GK, 100 years ago-ish. Just guessing...

We had a goalkeeper by the name of Williams a bit before my time who had 100+ clean sheets, but I think that has been suggested already.

Is this to do with the link you posted on that other thread - about Andy Rankin in the 70s?

I guess it might have to be Mike Walker who kept 22 clean sheets during the 69/69 promotion season?

    Yes you go it.......
    • Apr 19 1969 … Micky Walker’s 23rd clean sheet of the season in the league, a total unmatched by any other Watford goalkeeper.
