I'm 65 now and have given up hope of seeing us in a shiny new stadium, with our current 13k home support we don't need a 30k stadium it's been my home since the 60's and I'm reluctant to move
Well I'm 65 too and I'm just tired of the ****ty facilities and lack of leg-room at Loftus Road. I'd love a new stadium before I become as decrepit as the old one. Staying in W12 is not particularly important to me. H&F don't want us, so **** 'em - build it elsewhere.
I have no particular connection with H&F but would be concerned about the danger of ripping the heart out of our club were we to move too far away. More leg room would be nice!
I'm 170 and don't give a sh*t. But Hoos says we need to move to give us a chance of being financially viable, and seeing what he backs that up with I do think we have to move.
We need to move - end of arguement really....LR is unsustainable for a club with even an iota of ambition, and, as much as we all truly love the old dear, it's really not fit for 21st century entertainment. If you look deep into your hearts, you know it's a shabby, run-down stadium in the middle of a housing estate, with no hope for expansion or modernisation - quite a few of us grew up within a mile radius of that wonderful place, but nothing's changed over the last 30 years and the club needs to move on. Yes, I would love to remain in W12, and Lindford Christie would be ideal, but if the beaurocrats in H&F have made their minds up then we'll have to look a little further afield....it won't stop me from supporting the club, and attending matches whenever I get the chance (admittedly rarely, but that's more down to geography than anything else).
Another supportive facet to that argument is the fact that LR has not been our only home over the time the club has existed. Fifteen different locations until 1920 according to Wiki. That means we will see the centenary at LR so perhaps a good time for a move and a new start.
Any idea when the results of the Public Consultation will be announced? I don't mean a full report, but basic data on the number of respondents, etc.
What’s Linford Christie even doing now? I can’t believe he didn’t start a lunchbox company - an opportunity missed.
We could call it the Queens Park Rangers Linford Christie Lunchbox Arena and when it rains pop a Tupperware lid on it emblazoned with a lovely picture of some meat and two veg !!!!
All good news - just need the Charitable Trust to put the results to the council at the meeting this week and see if they can get them on board.....
Good start, you have to say if we don't get this opportunity for whatever reason we will need to look at options outside H&F...
Positive news! But I am very surprised at the low number of respondents. It seems that many QPR supporters did not fill in the questionaire and did not mobilise their acquaintences. I am slighly dissapointed by low QPR engagement score.
