QPR have posted this on Twitter... Four that I'd nominate would be Routledge v Coventry, Adel v Swansea, OBZ v Derby and Remy v Wigan. They all seem so long ago...
It's got to be OBZ, just because of where, when and how much it meant to us all - truly unforgettable
There's actually been some wonderful goals this season, Eze at Stoke, Hugills 1st at Sheff Wed to name a couple.... But for what it meant, the noise when it hit the back of the net, the roof lifted off the old girl then it has to be Charlie's winner against Wigan in the play off semi...….
Four great shouts. For raw passion. OBZ. For technical skill and wow factor, Remy. For emotional relief, Charlie v Wigan.
If it is which goal was the best, it has to be Remy for me followed by Adel V Swansea. If it is which goal made you happiest, it has to be Zamora at Wembley.
To be 'best' they have to be memorable, so I think all the contributions above have kinda nailed it. BOS's recent effort was pretty special too, of course, but Remy's for me was stunning.
Furlong against Oldham. It may have been the previous decade, but I'd still vote for it More seriously, has to be OBZ for the occasion, Routledge for the assist, or Taarabt vs Swansea for the all round quality. Mind you, BOS has offered a late great contender!
Loic Remy for me for the best technical goal. We were down to ten men for the majority of the game, in the 85th minute Wigan were attacking our goal when the ball broke to Stephane M'bia who ran the length of the pitch with Remy alongside him. M'bia slid the ball to Remy and without breaking stride hit the ball so cleanly it bent into the far corner. Zamora's goal was the best goal of the decade regarding drama and importance. I still can't believe it happened.
I can't disagree with these as quite often it's the circumstances that dictate the best goals but a stand alone goal without circumstances would be Matty Phillips goal against Palace a screamer from 45 yards was the best long shot I have ever seen, from a Qpr player.
Clearly OBZ is the winner but didnt we beat the ruperts 2-0 where Adel just pushed it into the corner of the loft past Schwartzer with outside of his foot, #thingofbeauty
Agree about Remi. My problem is I can't think about that game without remembering the devastation when Malone hit that free kick in stoppage time.
Is it me just that we seem to be sauntering around like a sunday morning kick around with your mates?
I wouldn't quite explain our celebration as "nearly had sex" but yes, it was that once in a lifetime moment QPR fans rarely experience. ps, just remembered, I was so ecstatic as at the half time gathering, I predicted we would win 1-0 and that Zamora would score the winner. It was a "i told you so" moment. Don't think I've got a score prediction right since lol.
Adel Taarabt's 2009/10 goal of the season against Preston. He controlled a goal kick on his chest on the half way line, beating one opposition player for the ball, muscled past a second, cut one way then the other to beat two more, then bent the ball round one defender into the top corner of the goal from just over 20 yards. That goal would ordinarily take some beating but the emotion of the OBZ goal will probably pip it.
