Rangers have won back-to-back home league matches on two occasions so far in 2019/20; beating Wigan Athletic and Luton Town in the summer months and overcoming Stoke City and Derby County in recent days. Over New Year, Mark Warburton's men also dismantled both Cardiff City and Swansea City in successive W12 games, with the latter victory coming in the Emirates FA Cup. The R's have yet to seal a treble of home wins this term, though, and they will want to change that when Blues head south. Birmingham will pose a difficult challenge - they are currently on a 12-match unbeaten run and Pep Clotet's men earned a goalless draw at Millwall on Wednesday night. Birmingham City: Josh McEachran (knee) Kerim Mrabti (hamstring), Dan Crowley (hamstring), Jacques Maghoma (quad). Pre-match words QPR manager Mark Warburton: "Birmingham are in-form and their confidence will be sky high as well. They pose a real attacking threat through Scott Hogan and Lukas Jutkiewicz. "There’s physicality at the back through Marc Roberts and Harlee Dean. Then in midfield, there’s cleverness, too. "They have a lot of talent in their ranks and it will be a tough test." Birmingham City manager Pep Clotet: "They are a team in a good moment. They are a very balanced team. They had a tough moment in January, but they got over it. "When we have the ball, we will need to use it wisely and try to hurt them in the right way and focus on their weaknesses. "When they came to St. Andrew's they defended very well, and they played very good counter-attacks against us and caused us a lot of problems and we didn't find a way to their goal."
17 Oct 1970Queens Park Rangers vBirmingham City W 5-2 League Division Two I remember a wonderful Rodney hat trick, a header, and bullet shot and a typical Rodney bit of skilful dribbling. Possibly one of the best hat tricks ever
This will be the first game of the season (maybe second(?)) that I miss this season. I am on a coach education day with Jan Andersson (Sweden's coach) at Norrköping's ground. I hope that he apprieciates my sacrifice!
F*ck me, was that really 50 years ago? Those were the days. Got my free travel pass a few months ago as well, still f*ckin' drive everywhere...
Same here soop & I only use it mainly to go to rangers as I can’t be asked to drive through London, that was a great match though & they had latchford who was good, makes you feel old watching that again!
50 years......OMG Rodney in imperious form......TV scampering around like a youngster....that was a lovely 3rd goal..... A very young Parksy in goal, Clements and Gillard as full backs.....the beginning of that wonderful side...
I’ve sprained my ankle and it’s pissing down but I’ve paid my £34 now so **** missing this when twelfth place is in our grasp.
What's not to like? A mid-table 6 pointer against a boring team with some of the most Neanderthal and hateful supporters in the country. A virus would just be the icing on the cake...
