    Match Preview from the official;

    FOLLOWING Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship victory over Middlesbrough at Loftus Road, Mick Beale’s side kick-off their Carabao Cup campaign this evening with a trip to The Valley to face Charlton Athletic.

    The R’s head across the capital for what will be undoubtedly a tough test against our League One opponents, as both sides will be looking to build on their respective victories last weekend.

    Of course, the Super Hoops got off the mark with a memorable afternoon in W12, with first-half strikes from Chris Willock, Jimmy Dunne and Lyndon Dykes eventually sealing Rangers’ first three points of the 2022/23 campaign.

    Whilst the Addicks also sealed an impressive victory over promotion favourites Derby County in SE7 on Saturday, with Corey Blackett-Taylor’s effort enough to get the job done for Ben Garner’s new side.

    Both sides now may use the famous competition to try something new, with some changes to the starting XI’s expected, but R’s boss Beale will be keen for a positive result against one of his former employers.

    In recent years the Super Hoops have struggled at The Valley, having failed to clinch a victory from our last four meetings with the Addicks but tonight will be the perfect opportunity for the R’s squad to try and impress their new head coach as we look to put our name in the hat for the 2nd round draw of the famous tournament.

    Team News
    QPR: Sinclair Armstrong may return with Albert Adomah pushing for a start, but Jake Clarke-Salter and Taylor Richards will be missing.

    Charlton Athletic: Conor McGrandles looks set to miss out for the Addicks.

    Pre-match Talk
    Mick Beale (QPR head coach): “There has been a nice feel-good factor around the building after the win against Middlesbrough at the weekend and we want to keep that going.

    “We will make some changes but only with players that have earned it rather than giving out the shirt without people having earned it with their training.”

    Ben Garner (Charlton Athletic Manager): “It was nice to get the home win on Saturday and now hopefully take that into tonight. It’s fantastic that it’s a Championship side and it’s another London club so it should create a good atmosphere. We’re looking forward to the game.”

    Let the cup run begin. Come on you super HOOPSA!!!

    Good knowledge. Surprised to see that Washington played 92 games for us. Thought it was far less than that...probably because he only scored 13 in those 92.

    Time to play some fringe players for this. Injuries already cutting deep, can't risk Paal, Kakay, Willock and Amos can't be to start with. Others will probably get a rest too. Obviously would like to win but big game away to Sunderland at weekend who have started well back in this league. We'll need all the players we can muster for up there.

    Don't forget their 45,000 fans who'll be in attendance, almost as massive as Leeds.........

    Admirable stance, but with such a thin squad and 2 key players just returning from injury, you have to feel it could be foolhardy this time around. If most of the fringe players aren't good enough to beat Charlton , then they shouldn't be at the club !
