... and why is Uncle Albert on the bench so long or even on the bench to start with? As soon as he came on we looked dangerous.
Shame not to be on top of our game today but sounds like there are positives amongst the cock-ups which lost us the opportunity to get at least a point from the game. It will hopefully give the board a serious nudge that things can’t just be left as is in the off-season; it will also give the players the nudge that they need to be on their game against teams at the level of Norwich. By no means moaning at how the season has changed for us, it will be crucial to see who’s staying and going at the end of the season. The Field position seems uncertain now. No idea what will be with Johansen- cost/availability/desire to be with us.
Despite our errors, IF we had scored from the penalty and had Charlie nodded in from 6 yards, then it would have been 3-3. They also fluffed their chances, but we were rather too generous both with our defence and attack. We will play worse and win. There are lessons learned as well as positives.
Entertaining game although wrong result, both attacking teams & defences both dodgy, should play Albert more as attack comes to life when he’s on the ball, only disappointing fact was the poor goals & our missed chances
I wonder if using Albert like he does he gets more from him. He is so often brilliant when he comes on, like today. When he has been on longer he has tended to fade a bit.
Warburton was asked why Lumley wasn't in the squad yesterday in the Official's after match interview, and said they'd had words and it was his decision not to select him. Nothing about any injury. Think he is out of contract end of this season. I hope he stays, he has shown himself to be an excellent alternative to Dieng the last few games, that competition does them both good. He also gives great support to the team when not playing. But Joe probably feels he is good enough to play regular 1st team football at this level, and he may not get that if Dieng stays. Then there is the money part.
We need one win from our next two games to secure 10th place & that would be an excellent season considering where we was in December
