On Facebook. A guy claims his mate plays for the B team. Allegedly. He gave the rumour about the falling out between GA and Willock, Laird, Johansen. He also said the players laugh behind Ainsworth back about his tactics and his bonding techniques ( the haka incident understand tbh). There is also a rumour about a clique in the club centred on Dickie
I genuinely thought folk were being a bit too disrespectful about GA and his management/coaching abilities when he first signed but evidence is now overwhelming that he's either way out of his depth or he just doesn't suit the QPR job or both. I can't really remember how we were playing under Critchley but it can't have been worse, has anyone compared their points per game ratio? That was something Critchley was beaten to death with by the end. The rumours of player unrest aren't too difficult to disbelieve although Willock hasn't given a decent performance in aeons now and sadly Steff looks just as knackered as Uncs. Laird can jog the **** on as far as I'm concerned. It's all so utterly depressing to go from leading the pack to staring relegation in the face.
Critchley won 1, drew 5, lost 6 of his 12, 0.666 points per game; Ainsworth is 1,2,7 after 10, 0.5 points per game. If we don’t win one of the next two games Critchley has the better record.
The Haka was something I really thought we could just laugh off and consign to history but it was spectacularly unwise, modern footballers are 'too cool for school' to buy into that sort of thing. Can easily see how they would laugh behind his back. Hard to imagine Dickie being the ring leader of a clique he's been so flaky this season but you never know.
We need a firm disciplinarian for a season to shake-the-**** up this lot. Cliques, falling outs! Bollocks. Get the **** on with your job of a lifetime as a footballer and go out there and play to win. GA isn’t the answer. Neither are the other coaching staff. But these players are getting on my tits. Take it all and give **** all back. We are going to have to be very smart who we clear out and who we keep. But the culture in this club is ****ing awful.
I had to reread the last line cause I first saw it as stroller and couldn't work out what he had said on the politics thread that upset you so much
Jamie Mackie, Merson were on Sky just before kickoff, both said the video of the haka was embarrassing, players looked horrified, and club should never have put it out. Also said to be on a run as bad as we are, in a league where anyone can beat anyone, that the players have basically given up, and they don’t fit Gareth’s style of play at all.
I delete the Xmas clock and we get a point. Kiwi ( should have been 3 ...but for Stroud and his lino). The clock is the answer
Aside from the strange subs last night and the diabolical officiating was the dire lack of urgency from Seny. His distribution is generally poor but last night in particular he was holding onto the ball far too long. He missed a number of opportunities to get it out before NC could fully regroup. Such basic stuff.
A battling performance but lumping it forward all the time is truly awful to watch. You can't even say it's working and I wonder whether Gareth has any other way of playing. Despite being an early and consistent critic of Critchley, I found myself this morning thinking that he would be doing a better job than Gareth. Is this blasphemy? Why were the subs brought on so late? Martin and Lowe were offering very little. As others have said, even an off-form Willock would have been much, much better. Instead, to bring on Adomah rather than Willock was weird but perhaps the feeling was that he would give better and much-needed defensive support to Drewe. But we were chasing a win. Supposedly. To give Richards just 4 minutes was a joke. We must stop giving Chair responsibility for free kicks and corners. Either he hits the first defender or balloons it too long. During the game, I was praying that Paal would be given the job. It's such a waste. And then there's Seny: in the first instance, a decent save on 46 minutes but he does seem to have a habit of pushing the ball back into dangerous places, for which we were duly punished. I, too, think that Norwich could have had a red card, notably for the assault on Drewe, which Stroud didn't even see as a foul. On the other hand, having watched the replay several times, to be given a penalty for Lowe's tumble would have been generous, in my opinion. He was looking for the penalty and there was minimal contact. Seen them given, though. We needed to win that game. We had the opportunity but blew it. One final thought: bring back Warburton as Director of Football. At least he has a proven track record, knows our club and the players, plus he recognises that the youth set up is not producing. Controversial?
