Looking for some feedback/advice here lads n lasses. I am fortunate enough to live full time in Spain and up till now I have got by cheating the system with my NVIDIA and apps but my internet at times is pretty poor when trying to stream from "weak" connections. As I also think I should support the club in whatever way I can I am considering signing up to QPR+ to watch the games live. The thing I dont like is the smallprint bit where they say that games on Sky (not too much of a bother) or foreign tv stations (much more worrying) will not be available. The questions are; Is it a decent service and how many games do you miss due to continental tv rights? Thanks in anticipation.
I used QPR+ for all of last season and was very pleased with it. There are the occasional niggling technical problems which you wouldn't always expect from a professional outfit but it kept me in touch and it was nice to cut down on my travelling time. Nevertheless, this season, I shall be back on the road, now that it is allowed.
Games that are on Sky are always on local tv in all countries (they buy it from sky). If you haven't got the channel that shows it there is always a stream (hesgoal for example). I have had QPR+ (in Sweden) since it started. Wouldn't be without it!
Due to the time difference I usually only watch mid-week games at work Wouldn't be able to without my steelsy+
I've been watching the R's on QPR+ for a few seasons now Stick, and it's gotten better, certainly last season was good. I've watched from Thailand, a "dark" Country, so all the League games are on QPR+, and from Norway where some of the games on Internationally are on pay TV, otherwise a stream. It's been good value, only hope the problems with the pre-season games don't repeat.
Just looking at the offer on offish and for stg£140 it looks really good value. I'll give serious consideration to forking out for it even though I might not be in to watch every game.......
A while back I made a guide on how to watch "dark market" matches on QPR+ itself, which is relatively easy. Last season, I pretty much watched every game, whether on Sky or not. I actually like the QPR+ coverage. If you have a decent connection, the picture is fine and the commentary is fun. https://www.not606.com/threads/a-guide-to-watching-dark-markets-matches.392084/
By the way, the dark matches are cheaper than the UK aired matches. £7 instead of £10, unless prices are different this year? Also, do not be worried about the moral aspect of this. The only people losing out are Sky. QPR gains from it. I suspect that QPR are probably happy for people to do it as they still get money from the fee you pay, money they would not be getting if you weren't doing it.
Fair comment on the commentary team: it's easy to criticise people doing this job but I think they perform well and I enjoy it (when the sound actually works).
Are they the same commentators as on the highlights when they come up on the official? Have to say, I find them cringingly embarrassing.
It's normally Andy Sinton doing co-commentary and he does get a bit passionate sometimes. Fair play though, if you ask me. It is for QPR fans after all.
Sounds a great idea. I've added Avira Phantom VPN to Chrome. Where do I input the Netherlands stuff? It doesn't seem to be asking for any details
So, there should be a little icon in chrome that is either the Avira VPN icon or a puzzle icon which represents the chrome extensions. If the puzzle, that should bring up a list of your extensions. Open the Avira VPN extension and you should be able to switch it on and off as well as choosing a region.
Yes, I found this by using the puzzle icon. But it doesn't allow me to choose a region... Free Avira Phantom VPN – Unblock Websites On Description Climb over firewalls to access any site – securely and privately. Unlimited data & FREE. Version 1.5.1 Size 3.9 MB Permissions Read and change all your data on the websites you visit Site access Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit: On click On specific sites On all sites Allow in Incognito Warning: Google Chrome cannot prevent extensions from recording your browsing history. Ok, so when you click on the Avira VPN icon, you should see a box like this: please log in to view this image You see where it says "Nearest location?" Click on those words and you will get a dropdown menu of all the locations available to you. You can then select Netherlands, which I always use to watch the dark matches.
Brilliant, and many thanks awjm. I can't attend many matches this season, so this access to QPR + Is a great benefit and good to know the club gets the £10.00 each time. If anyone else is thinking about it, even for the occasional match, I highly recommend it. Follow the recommended steps, and the technology is straightforward.
Paid up for a season ticket and watched the game on QPR+ and it was really good. Buffered for a few seconds late on in the game but it was actually a really good experience. Thanks for the feedback and responses fellas
