Firstly we need to get a price on a wreath I would say. I'm sure they do plenty of lufc badges in florists in Leeds. Can anyone local get a price? Let's get that ordered for the 2nd and go from there
Had a quick look. Didn't check delivery costs. What I learned is that when we come to order, we should check out the size of it. Realised that when one of the florists offered 3 different sizes. We don't want to send something that could fit in your hand. Embarrassing all round. Some examples: 1. £60-£90 & Iffy (med & lge) ... https://www.leedsflowers.co.uk/coll...leeds-united-badge-tribute?variant=8690389381 2. £120 & looks good (?) ... http://hydesflorist.co.uk/bespoke-funeral/ 3. £120 & looks good (2'x2') ... http://www.campionsfuneralflowers.co.uk/leeds-united-tributes 4. £95 & looks ok (?) ... http://www.budsandbloomsflorists.co.uk/apps/webstore/products/show/5056808 5. £95-£150 & iffy (sm, med & lge) ... http://www.flowerpower-florist.co.uk/design-201130134/leeds-united-badge.htm Here's the photies - can a mod edit this post & cut them down to reasonable viewing size so we can compare, please? 1. please log in to view this image 2. please log in to view this image 3. please log in to view this image 4. please log in to view this image 5. please log in to view this image
Am I missing something? The service is down south, near Kent/Croydon way... How is a Leeds based florist going to get the flowers or agree to right down there, would probably be triple the charge of the wreath then you risk the wreath arriving in a mess. Surely we need a local florist to where the service is being held???
Interflora... You agree and pay locally and its made up and delivered locally. However its clear that this wont happen as nobody is taking responsibility and sorting or underwriting the cash. Not a criticism its quite tricky to do and when you think about it we are able to make even the simple task of organising a meet up in a pub look difficult. It was suggested with the best of intentions but giving to charity is a much simpler process. There is potential for nothing to come out of this if its not moving soon. BTW I am not posting this to be contraversial.
Ahh okay, we've only ever used two local based independent ones. I think his wife is looking forward to seeing a Leeds shape wreath so I hope it does go ahead.
Of course he's not being controversial! All he's doing is presenting guesswork (more likely hope) as fact. As usual. In actual fact, a committee has been formed, tasks allocated, and we'll report progress when appropriate. Marcos is the Project Manager, so I'll direct all queries to him
