Howe and Dyche are both 5/1 favourites to be fired next.

Using howes win percentage at the moment is silly when one win sent it up 8 percent by itself, 2 or 3 more wins and he also starts to statistically look like one of our better managers.

Rafa's PL win percentage since 8 Nov (when Howe took over) is 11%

I’m pretty sure using money as a reason to big up Rafa is nothing short of laughable. Are we just going to ignore when we got relegated and hawked in huge fees for Sissoko and Gini etc, he spunked the vast majority to get out of the championship. It’s no good saying “they did the job that was needed, he expected them to be sold when we went up” etc etc. It’s a stupid defence. These players have hung round out neck like an albatross, we still can’t shift some on now, which meant we couldn’t improve the squad. And Hughton outstripped it on a paltry budget with loans. Hence we were able to build on his work, this was impossible on the back of what Rafa did with our money. 55m on the likes of Clark, Gayle, Hayden, Hanley, Sels, Ritchie, Yedlin, Diame, Murphy, Gamez, Lazaar. **** me if you can’t work out how many **** hawks he wasted that money on, you are beyond help. That’s without getting into the appointment of Lascelles and Shelvey as captains. Or spunking what little money we did have on our return on Jacob ****ing Murphy. Or losing Merino in favour of Diame.

Honestly his time here is the most overhyped period in our history. At least Bruce left us with Joelinton, Wilson, Willock and ASM. Maybe if Rafa hadn’t ****ed up the championship season so bad, we wouldn’t be where we are now. I knew he’d **** up Everton, he’s a relic from a bygone era. Why people keep making excuses for his failure here while slating Bruce is just bizarre when you look at the facts. This idea because we generated funds when relegated it’s ok he wasted them is just weird. It ****ed us over the long term.

It’s misleading as it works on the premise that

    1. The manager was in control of buying and selling players

    2. That the players got, acknowledging that the manager would have some input, were his first or second or even third choices.

Indeed which is the same for Bruce. However it doesn’t change that his captaincy decisions and the money he wasted getting out of the championship were catastrophic decisions.

I'd normally ask for a summary, but I think I get the gist.

You're a fan of his then?

Nobody asked you, stop interjecting into others conversations and get back to dribbling on yourself in a senile stupor.

You do realise that with Trev's track record of not reading to the end of the thread, you've just told him to hit his nurse!!

Were they catastrophic decisions bare in mind we got out of the championship 1st time of asking and Lascelles was solid back then to the point he was being valued at 30 mil.

See above. I’ve already covered that getting out the championship at the first time of asking in no way justifies the wasting of club funds. Hughton also got out at the first time of asking, on a paltry budget, with more swagger. It was poor management. He sold a better defender in Mbemba. It’s all come gone to roost with Rafa. The long term reveals all, and his performance since confirms it. It’s also notable that the players he bought are difficult to offload. That tells its own story.

So yes it turned out to be catastrophic for the club.

I would also consider his management of the club to be very poor.

We went down with a stronger squad than he left us with in the Prem, they were rigid and only able to play his version of footy.

Bruce doesnt bring a style or brand of any sort, he took over a boring defensive team and thats how we played his entire tenure; until the lack of coaching and signings naturally led us the bottom of the league.
