http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-23633560 Liverpool footballer Raheem Sterling has been charged with assault following an incident on Merseyside. The player, who made his debut for England last year, was arrested at about 22:30 BST on Thursday in the Page Moss area of Huyton. He was held overnight and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court later. The incident followed the announcement of the 18-year-old's inclusion in the England Under-21s squad for their friendly with Scotland next week.
Really hope he gets his head down this season and stops with the shenanigans. He's definitely been overtaken by Ibe IMO.
We don't know the full details yet but it seems like he's doing anything but getting his head down. Poor, lightweight performances in pre-season, now more of this nonsense. Not looking good for him, if he doesn't turn it around his career's going to go on the slide so quickly it'll be like it has been smeared with olive oil. It could end up that the one purple patch he had for us in the 2012-13 season will be his career highlight. Sort it out Raheem Sterling! Also sort it out LFC, is there something the club can do to stop him hanging around in the wrong circles? Agree about Ibe.
Sterling has gotten worse since his debut last year. He needs to knuckle the **** down. For me he's not good enough for our first 11 yet and clearly this assault just shows his attitude is still bollox. Send him on loan for a year to mature
Well I guess a loan might get him away from his cronies. I don't know if it's that too much has been thrust upon him too early or whether he's just a sod.
Yeah this isn't so bad now, we have strengthened in both windows plus Ibe so Sterling is mainly letting himself down.
Poor form and you could understand. But assault for the second time? Can hardly put it down to pressure, he's obviously a bit of a "hard nut" with his mates. What a twat tbh
Honest to god...we all know Page Moss is trouble In relation to this "incident" I think we should remember people are innocent until proven guilty and his last charge didn't stand up to much in court eh. As for his football though he has looked off the pace pre-season and I have serious doubts about his progress from here on in. He needs to improve a lot of areas of his game and in fact he's actually gone backwards since he got his contract.
I thought he's looked ok preseason bar the last game. But back to the OP, innocent until proven guilty, but I'm sure there's no smoke without fire, and this hasn't been the first time he's been caught up in something negative. He needs to knuckle down and concentrate on his football, not just for the club but for himself if he doesn't want to look back in regret.
True, and why is he hanging out in an area like Page Moss of all areas? He's on multi-million quid wages surely he can find something to do in his down time elsewhere?
Thinking he is getting to that 3 strikes and you're out with Rodgers if this is true. Needs to just look at how much Ibe has caught him/will surpass him.
If he is guilty of assault I would be suggesting more than just a loan, the guy is no Suarez - not worth the ****. If he's like this now god knows what he'll be like when he's older. But to be charged for the second time means he's not exactly the squeaky clean type, he obviously hangs around with the wrong circle, in the wrong places.
My post wasn't meant to denigrate the area but just raise the point that a PL footballer hanging out there might be, shall we say, a little obvious and also a target for any trouble, should there be trouble.
Tbf DD he wasn't hanging out around here, he was pulled in his car, so he was just passing through here when he got nicked.
Because its unusual to see a car in the Moss nevermind one with its wheels still on I was so hoping you'd join this thread PMK
Fair enough man, just re-read the article and it does say 'arrested in PM' 'incident on Merseyside'. I still think he should find another route home. What kind of car does he drive anyway? at TAKABEP
