The Women's Euro final is on and proving to be a good game. Some nice football being played

 

Once you've doped it's easier to get in peak condition even without doping later on. The muscle cells have already divided. You already have an advantage to get fit.

Noone should ever return to the sport after doping. They always have an unfair advantage there after.

 

Exactly....depending on what you've taken the benefit is accomplished...looking contrite and coming back after a couple of years? Pfffft.

Life ban is the only solution....the rest is a talking shop of definition with a bunch of cheats. Nobody trusts a thing now. It's become a magic show....same with cycling

 

Think there are two solutions to this.
1) Lifetime bans for anyone found guilty of drug cheating (based on a court of arbitrations final decisions)
2) Two strike policy. First time guilty 1year+ ban. Second time guilty Life time ban.

Can't understand why athletics is so muddled when it comes to drugs cheats. Have a clear policy and then stick to it.

 

They tried the lifetime ban and the courts ruled it was illegal as it was a restriction of trade! Bloody lawyers

 

IMO there should be a two strike rules;
Caught once = 1yr ban
Caught a second time and it's a life ban

 

Imo anyone caught and i mean caught should just be gone. They have cases of guys claiming this and that.

The most ridiculous one i heard was some lad caught and he claimed that gobbing his girlfirend ransferred some banned substance into him.

Imo thr coaches and drs should grt jail time as its risking lives and athletrs should be pursued for every penny earned to bankrupt them.

If you bankrupted every **** caught its soon stop.

 

There is always the niavity aspect, spiking / wrong doing or simply misunderstanding. A 1yr ban is enough for a first offence with the condition that they'll be elderly tested thereafter

 

Does it not depend how long they've been doing it?

I mean if you catch them in the first year...a year ban might be ok...but if they've been at it long enough to get irreversible enhancement a ban means nothing.

Coaches should be assert stripped and jailed.

a 1 year ban and omission from the Olympics and Golden league. I believe the GL is invitational so that shouldn't be a problem and the Olympic trials, well, don't they have to be picked by the home committee?

 

Surely has to be more than a year ban first time around........any ban has to disrupt their careers significantly

Am I right in thinking Gatlin has been caught twice?...........he shouldn't be anywhere near top level athletics

Gatlin was banned for a 2 year then a 4 year stretch so was that a deterrent?

 

I guess competing illegally and getting caught is better than not competing at all for some people

If you're caught doping it should be a life ban. It's not allowed so don't ****ing do it.
