What a belter of an opener that was from Ryan Kent ! ... one of those to watch again and again. Roofe also scored, to give a 2-0 HT lead. Nevertheless I remain vehemently opposed to this mockery of a league 'system'. To illustrate my point, imagine if Rangers had the same points and a better GD (could also have more goals scored and/or more games won too) in the SPL than Celtic, but Celtic had a better record than Rangers in the Head-to-Head matches ... Europa League Group D Round 4, Thursday 26/11/2020 : Rangers 2-2 Benfica That was a win thrown away tonight, our 2-0 lead provided by Arfield (1st) and Roofe (2nd half) disappearing due to a Tavernier OG and a Benfica leveller (again). There was the unwelcome return of too much play around our own box and we should have had a penalty under the current handball rule. Overall it was an even game and the score reflected this but, it should have been better. P.S. Per BT Sport this broadcast was "Live: Sparta Prague v Celtic" throughout ... I enjoyed the highlights ! Scottish League Cup Round 4, Sunday 29/11/2020 : Falkirk 0-4 Rangers It was Sportsound Radio and my Twitter feed for this one, the latter showing Defoe's route one opener, courtesy of Goldson. This was followed by Bassey's first Rangers goal (surely a good one) and Barisic's superb free-kick (shown by Twitter), to provide the 3-0 half-time lead. In the 2nd half Tavernier soon continued the scoring with a precision volley from Barisic's cross (also shown) ... and that was that !

Europa League Group D Round 5, Thursday 03/12/2020 : Rangers 3-2 Standard Liege Against adversity Rangers turned this match around and thereby qualify for the KO Stage with a Group game to go. It was a stuttering 1st half which nevertheless ended level (Goldson header and Tavernier penalty) and was decided by Arfield's well worked 2nd half winner. Standard Liege played well throughout whereas it was a game of two halves for Rangers. A draw would have been a fair result, but I am not complaining about the win ! Rangers' 1st half opener (shown on Twitter) started from Davis' visionary pass to Tavernier, whose accurate cross was deftly diverted into the goal by Roofe. Tavernier scored early in the 2nd half and later forced a Ross County OG to make the score 0-3 and after multiple substitutions, Defoe scored in the 90th minute to make it 0-4 to cap a bright performance on a bright day. Europa League Group D Round 6, Thursday 10/12/2020 : Lech Poznan 0-2 Rangers Any worries about SG's team selection were banished in a game that Rangers started tentatively and grew into to dominate. Picking up steam then maintaining the pace, relentlessly. Cedric Itten's well taken opener provided a half-time lead and Hagi made sure Goldson's header went over the line for the 2nd goal. So Rangers top Group D undefeated and will be seeded in the Round of 32 Draw on Monday. Well Done to all.
