Absolutely terrible it was, but it was all about getting there and getting the money. We just need our board to invest that money on players now, the useless ****s.
It's a very risky decision for Beale. Rangers are nine points behind Celtic, the squad is poor and needs a serious upgrade. Will the fans and board be patient with him, especially if he fails to bring in any silverware come May (they're in the Semis of the League Cup, and Scottish Cup normally starts in Jan for SPL sides). If he takes the job and fails he'll have nowhere to turn given how he walked out after his "integrity" speech. Succedes, and he may get a mid- to lower-table job in the Premier League - probably dumping Rangers when they come calling to boot. Personally hope it's all a load of ****e as it'll be a good wind up for some of the guys at work!
Yep, I was writing at the same time as processing my thoughts. Question remains if the few European games make up for the majority of league games, which will be pretty poor quality football in League 1 or 2 standard stadiums.
Since then we have sold Bassey for £19 mil, Aribo for £6mil and got about £30mil for reaching the EL final, I reckon we will manage to scrape together the £1.5mil for you. Remember and spend it wisely.
Very risky for Beale, he started well...but from being top of the league...1 pt from 5 matches leaves as 7th. He obviously could not hold the team together...not great potential IMHO. He goes to a poor Rangers team...that has no chance of catching Celtic...and I suspect even I could guide them in to second place....no great feet He will of course be in Europe next year...but with no competition to strengthen their team... he will suffer the same ignomy as this year. On our front...if he doesn't go now...he will stay with us....and see the project put ( no one else will tempt him). But if he goes now...go quickly let us get some one in ( critchley?) NOW. It is the least you can give us. And don't come for our players in January
Well, Ibwould imagine we shall see if it makes up for it in tye next couple of days. Personally I think he is too big a gamble for us, but there you go.
Nothing like a bit of embellishment seeing as you only got €7.1 m (£6.5m) for the semi-finals and losing the final, not sure how you make £30m from the whole thing.... but hey you just enjoy.... I'm basically beyond caring if he joins you or not....
I would say £30 mil is about bang on. The £6.5mil for getting to the final, the 6 home games in the group stages and the knock out rounds, let's say £50 x 50,000 x 6 which is £15mil, then tye TV money and also hospitality etc. We also had 2 home games in tye CL qualifiers so that's another £5mil in ticket sales...but hey you just enjoy.
It doesn't hurt at all, it wouldn't bother me if we still didn't sign them as long as we won. I find it strange that you bring that up considering it hasn't been going on for over 30 years, most of our team are Catholics, we have had Catholic captains and managers. Do you always live in the past like this or are you making an exception when discussing Rangers?
Tha line above highlighted says it all. Proof that the anti-catholic sectarianism is alive and well. today and is not from 30+ years ago.
There's plenty of bigots on both sides of the Old Firm - it's disgusting and neolithic There are plenty who aren't but as always, it's the ones who make the loudest noise that drags them down
