Been having this argument for a while now and was hoping someone on here could help. It concerns the crests on the Main Stand, one at the Copland end and one at the Broomloan. The pic below from the Mitchell is from 1935 and it has been confirmed that it says Ready and not Aye Ready. please log in to view this image This is from The Scotsman in 1959 and again, it has been confrimed as Ready. please log in to view this image And finally this, confirmed from Youtube footage as 1969. please log in to view this image But it seems that's not good enough for some who still claim that it said Aye Ready in the early 60's - a pile of ****e. I need an old photograph of that crest between 1960 and 1966. I've been to the Mitchell and they don't have one. Can anyone help ?
That's right , the papevine is the source of all The Rangers knowledge ; I can reveal the crest actually says Nae Readys Happy to help as always.
Can't see McCoist and hi diddy co-horts being there next season to be honest. Derek McInnes may have been a decent choice for you.
And I absolutely love this pic. It captures the era perfectly. Check the coats.... Every man had to have a "good coat" back then, along with their "good suit" please log in to view this image No idea why that belter's carrying a flask and his pieces right enough......
I would've loved to went to the old Ibrox, sadly before my times. I went to the old Parkhead a good few times when I was boy. The last time I went there was a 4-2 Rangers victory at Ne'er. Missed the first 2 goals as there was a queue outside and Rangers scored 2 goals in the first 4 minutes. That was the game where Ally Maxwell was attacked by a Celtic fan and John Brown banjo'd him. And Kuznetsov scored a 30 yarder. I went to the last Cup Final at Hampden before it got done up, Rangers vs FC Wool, Gary Smith diving header for the winner. Would love to see Safe-standing areas back at the games.
Hately got 2 and Michailachenko(?) got the other. I was at that game aswell, rough as **** I was. We were 3-0 up after about 30 minutes.
