I browse both forums and admittedly smb is full of absolute clowns and keyboard warriors. But why when I look on every thread on here smb is constantly brought up? Yous seem obsessed with it. I come on here as there's some excellent posters and it's light relief from the nut jobs on smb. But I come on here less and less now as it just seems to be constant craic about "over the road". Just an observation. I'll now await the abuse that comes with it.

I'm not in here on a wind up. It's a genuine observation. You might not see it with your blinkers on. As a neutral it stands out like a sore thumb.

    A - That's absolute nonsense

B - Why would anyone care whether or not you read this forum.

C - What have you said that could possibly deserve abuse, this isn't the SMB <laugh>

So you started a thread on here about RTG to complain that RTG is talked about too much?
I like both boards actually, plus you get more name dropping over there than you do on here.

I must admit I have kept away from smb for a while now, the main reason for me was the number if threads and posts grew too quickly. I can come on here once a day and still catch up in about 10 minutes.

SMB will be mentioned on here if someone on there says something interesting (on any topic) that a person who browses both wishes to share.

Less mags here aswell, I reckon.

There is the occasional reference to the other board but I'd say people were in now way "obsessed" by it.

I browse both. Put a couple* of posters on ignore and it’s bearable over the road. It’s mentioned more at the moment because they have posters who get information about transfers etc. and we’re all desperate for information. Weed out the playground fights and there’s some good stuff.

    * or a couple of dozen maybe <laugh>

Talking about what is said on the SMB is no different to those threads on the SMB where they talk about posts on Mag boards or on TV or in the Northern Chron, Shields Gazette, on the Beeb, Transfer Market, The Athletic or any one of a million fanzines and podcasts.

It is all about opinions - similar or different it is all good talk fodder.

We do it, the SMB does it, blokes in the pub do it. It is all chat and banter.

Having said all that I have to say that I haven't noticed any great preoccupation with RTG on this board.

His best contribution to this board appears to be not contributing
I have about 20 real life mates on RTG and probably another 20 or so who I've always been friendly with ...

.. I often pop over to see what they're saying, mostly what's being said on here tbh.

Read " the berk" comment. First reply to my thread. I'm not having a go or on a wind up like I said it was an observation as a neutral.

If that's what you regard as abuse you should give Mumsnet a try tbh.

It's an observation that the thread is a bit lame and won't live long, I'd say that's fair.

Out of interest, who do you support.

Far less whoppers on here. More genuine lads. Over there have the weakest mods of all time and frankly it's a pit of absolute misery. Before I quit, threads were barely readable, same posters with no life, job or future posting garbage.

My advice would be to post more and add better content if you don't like what's on here ...

... if you treat it as a free reading room you can't have any complaints tbh.

To be honest that is precisely what maybe 90% of WUMs start of with (either here or on RTG) - either in their OP or very soon after.

And yes, I browse and occasionally post over on RTG.
