More or less the same, although since mine was in the middle of the house, a bit extra for fitting a condense pump.
Exactly the same for me , had to put it through the upstairs bedroom along with the Flue , fitted one myself in a cottage a few years back and there was no such thing then , this recent one was to replace a Baxi Bermuda back boiler with a closed water system, the system was put in 40 years ago and was running no bother, but the heat exchange unit started leaking and the costs of servicing were rising so I went for a Combi even though they also need servicing for the Guarantee its a cleaner simpler job and hopefully a more efficient system to run, Time will tell.
I wouldn't have those things, I think they look awful. I also know a couple of people that's had problems selling their properties with them on.
Yeah - I suppose the electric contacts are only at certain places on the tiles Still - it looks a lot better that the options we have here at the moment.
I got a Baxi 800 combi in Feb and the difference compared to the old boiler was nuts. Thermostat got turned down as well as upstairs rads, really happy with it.
We had our boiler replaced last year, and got a Veissman. They were Which best buy in 2019, or so a big sticker on it claims. We had a number of quotes, and they all said different. First one said get Worcester Bosh, everything else is crap. Second guy said Worcester were good, but have now gone crap, get Vaillant. The Veissman guy at least seemed a bit more reasonable and just said theirs were good, and the warranty was long, etc, and didn't try and rubbish the competition. We've had no problems with it so far.
anything compared to a 15 year old or more boiler would be nuts. They all are now condensing and a lot more efficient. Even the new digital stats are great compared to the old, but common bi metal strip
We have a Glow worm ultra power xi It's good job I have maintenance contract with British Gas most of the parts have had to be changed sometimes twice! You have been warned. The newer boilers are supposed to be more efficient...Hmm that may be, but reliability is not good though
We've managed to get sorted with the boiler. Upgrading the pipework next year some time as need the boiler yesterday!! (it goes in on Monday!!) Power flush is included in the price we paid. Replacing a couple of radiators as my next door neighbour's dad (runs a plumbing and electrical firm) assessed them all for us and 2 of them were in really bad nick when he's looked (have to be honest, if I'd looked I'd have realised!!) Thanks for all the recommendations guys. Ended up going for a worcester bosch system and am moving it from it's current location (in the loft) to the kitchen.
Got a 10 year parts and labour on ours mate. Not planning on being in the house for 10 years to be honest. Will be moving into something a little bigger once my promotion comes through (all been delayed due to COVID!!)
