It's all clear as mud isn't it. Might be sorted might not or could be or maybe not or we could keep the saga running for another couple of months or perhaps not. Just come out and say what you intend instead of all this signalling they might not accept the verdict given. It isn't fair on anyone as clubs need to know where they will be playing and whom that will be. You cannot sign players for league one if you are going to be in the Championship and vice versa.
If you stay up and this rumbles on for a few more weeks then they might as well give YOU a points deduction for next season. Be honest it's hard enough for a club your size already without a huge delay nobody else gets.
What a mess this situation is putting the club in for either outcome. Ainsworth will know the type of players we need to even stand a chance of championship survival and yet they are likely unaffordable on a League 1 budget so he is damned and if he does and damned if he doesn’t. As the season looms nearer it gets more unlikely that a points deduction will happen and as for the article where Rob Couhig discusses suing Derby if there is no points deduction, well I’m not sure I’m wholly comfortable about being the club that sinks another either EFL grow a pair and decide either way for all our sakes
Derby want to hang this out until the 8th August, because once the season starts that will be it. As I understand some of the rules you have FFP rules in the EFL. If you go up to the Premier those rules don't count. What's happened with Derby the stupid Mel Morris has put his money in. Trying to be the big hero. Derby have lost four play-offs 2013/14, 2015/16, 2017/18 & 2018/19 & that's where it hit the fan. Also remember what I said in an earlier post Rob is a lawyer.
Gareth has confirmed that our disastrous start was due to relying on the players that got us the promotion. That was obvious but I thought it was a show of loyalty to those players to let them have their day in the Championship; and fair do's. Apparently it was a team talk that resulted in an agreement to update the squad to become competitive. With hindsight it's a pity in some ways that action wasn't taken earlier as we would not be in the situation in which we now find ourselves. But, personally, I think it was great to let them continue as it was their tremendous efforts that got us there. The way it was done allowed for a joint realisation of what was needed rather than ruthless management from day 1. It shows the type of caring outfit we have at Wycombe
with Rob Couhig being a lawyer it may not be over yet, even if he loses we might get some financial compensation.
I doubt it. The compensation would have been possible had we been forced to play in L1 due to a point deduction being awarded too late. As the EFL have said there is insufficient evidence to appeal, I think that has ****ed it up for us in terms of suing Derby. EFL have backed off and stitched us up
Shocking incompetence, but at least we know where we are. Watch us go up and Derby go down next season. Coyb
