On her 21st birthday she made the following statement :- "I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong." She did exactly that. I’m not a royalist by any stretch of the imagination but she’s steered this country through some **** in her 70 year reign and has earned respect the world over. She’s sworn in 15 different prime ministers. She’s a remarkable woman in my opinion who has given her life to serving this country, RIP Ma’am, thank you for your service.
RIP to the amazing lady. The world is a completely different place from when she took her place. Amazing.
Not a big royalist either, mostly because I just can't be bothered thinking about it. But seeing the reaction here in Norway, people were following the news minute by minute. Anyone who says the Queen was not respected abroad is a ****ing moron. Just check Reddit and similar sites. She earned her stripes, long reign, solid as a rock. Respect
Hard worker, but so are many. The Ukraine war kicked up less of a fuss and now sporting events may be cancelled, so I've got a lot less to do with my time and have got to overhear my family having a 24/7 blasting a TV live update on every single documented second of the aftermath of the queens death.
She was really well paid, by us, the tax payers to trip around the country/World to wave, shake hands, partake in inane small talk, smash bottles against boats. When she wasn't doing this she was enjoying the life of a billionaire. auf wiedersehen Liz.
And promote the country which she did so well. And to dedicate her life upto 96 years of age to serve this country. She was a one off special woman the like of which we won’t see again. People may not like the Royals generally but you would have to blind not to see what she has done for this country.
RIP The only monarch almost everyone in this country has ever know, and an amazing one. Shame she'll be followed by a total clown.
She was a part of the fabric of this country and a monarch who took seriously the responsibility attached to her position. I'm no royalist, but you cannot deny she gave her life to serving our country and it's people. RIP Ma'am
Sad day. She ruled with dignity while her kids and grandkids tried their best to bring the whole show down. Suspect it will lead to a real rethink on the role of the monarchy in the future. On a brighter note if the games are called off this weekend it gives Bruno and Max more time to get fit and I won't have to buy drinks for Chippy on Sunday.
