After the summer break F1 is back It will be interesting to see the 'new' Spa layout changes and what teams have brought after their 'enforced break'! 44 laps of the 7.004-kilometre Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps 26th August Practice 1 13:00 - 14:00 26th August Practice 2 16:00 - 17:00 27th August Practice 3 12:00 - 13:00 27th August Qualifying 15:00 - 16:00 28th August Race 14:00 - 16:00 All times are UK times Poll closes before Quali.
Impossible to call before q2 is over. No idea if the merc propaganda campaign against red bull will come true or if ferrari will be as incompetent.
So many different things to consider after the break. Tech changes to floor, Astons rear wing etc. Alonso to McL, Riccy to ???? Maybe more driver announcements? Maybe announcements on Audi/Porsche/VW now engine/PU regs sorted. Spa is always one of my fav tracks and with everything that's going on it will be very interesting.
Certainly something for long and short term everywhere. It's one of those that the weather could come from nowhere so I have not even looked to see if we will be idley speculating while fog stops the medical chopper flying.
Friday looks like it might be wet!!!! Sat and Sun look dry and relatively cool at about 20 degrees C!
Other thing to factor in - although they may not be in the cars this weekend- is the deadline for hybrid unit final specs is very close. This is the last “true” opportunity to improve PU outright performance, though of course we know reliability upgrades can be allowed.
Speaking of power units,motorsport.com are reporting that Ferrari are on the backfoot already because Charles is having a new engine and will start at the back.
Have you seen all that different coloured paint there? I thought Paul Ricard was bad enough, but this is so ugh !!
Le clerc engine change assumes they will recover. Verstappen will need to do the same shortly. It'll be jnteresting to see if anyone has managed anything new over the break
with Leclerc and Verstappen starting from the back its up to perez and Sainz to win it. Perez looks is usual off'ness so Im going for Sainz. but will hold off till after FP2 to double check Mercedes are not sand bagging.
It's going to be entertaining with some racers at the back charging and the error ridden at the front
Was hoping for a bit of RBR and Ferrari drop off to add some spice to the championship. Guess we'll see tomorrow.
It's really hard to tell after those conditions. Red bull had it easy in p2. Mercs nowhere. It could yet all change about but a full throttle type track like this is something that Red Bull should have been thinking to win no matter what.
Good news and bad news . Good news is we are in Brussels for race weekend . Bad news is We ate out and as we were walking home , Mrs j said she had seen a mouse in the restaurant, She woke up in the night and has been sick on and off since then . So instead of sitting in Gold7 at the circuit , I am typing this from our hotel room , and Mrs J is sleeping . not sure who to go for in the race !
