Think the game changed 2nd half when they made their subs half-timeish. We faced far more balls into our box & were just desperately trying to clear, looking for an out-ball. We ended up dropping deeper & deeper. We had a midfield where 2 of the 3 are predominantly offensive. They were often (both), in no man's land so to speak. We needed someone like Jay to sit in with Grimes, put their foot on the ball & regain control. Cooper must've recognised this, but failed to act quick enough IMHO. Anyway, we are a solid team now, but still a few tweaks at the right times & we could go all the way. Just need luck with player fitness & suspensions too..
I think we can, feel Cooper needs to be more proactive at times though, rather than appearing reactive. We've got the squad now to certainly do that.
I sure is butt I hate to say this but I think Brentford are looking very likely. We're certainly top 3 but where in that triangle? Long way to go yet though.
At the moment, the table doesn't lie, we're certainly top 3. But if we can beat the Canaries Friday. I think we could possibly flip the top 3 at season end, with us second to the Prickly Bees instead. With Norwich in the play-offs, here's hoping..
If we beat Norwich, I think their arses will start twitching. Brentford are (it hurts me to say it) currently the best team in the Championship. Hopefully, they will hit a poor patch soon ...
This seems to happen to us a lot dominate the first have and just can’t get going in the second and end up hanging on. Still we got through it and a good 3 points against a side that hadn’t lost in 3 in the league and will be a difficult place for others to go. Just got to keep it up now.
Paul Warne, Rotherham manager “Sometimes you come away from a defeat and think about what you got wrong or about how some of the lads didn’t play to their optimum, but sometimes you have to accept the fact that the opposition beat you. “It wasn’t us beating ourselves. Their finishes were excellent and they go away with the three points.”
It wasn’t the greatest of performances today but we took our three goals very well...only 5 shots on target not bad. They were big ,physical and quite a bit of long ball tactics which last year would have seen us on the losing side. There is something positive about this squad where they more often than not pick up valuable points where they really shouldn’t... Onto the Canaries next Friday which is certainly a winnable game....
Norwich’s Buendia is out for two matches - second red card of the season so will be out against us. Hugill is also out for a month.
Pity.......not really we are missing Routs and Cullen.....looking forward to Friday even missing Corrie
This one doing the rounds on Twitter, not sure if there is anything in it. Couple of departures imminent at #dcfc, who have accepted a bid of around £700,000 from #Swansea for England u20 forward Morgan Whittaker. #Millwall’s second bid of £750,000 for midfielder George Evans also accepted. Rooney working on 2-3 new signings before deadline #swans
It's not appealing, no. But - the joy of a successful season and a promotion warrants that, for me. It's nice to win stuff. And when we do come back down I'm guessing we'll be financially sound and can give promotion another crack as one of the favourites. It may be a vicious cycle but at least we'll be winning more games than we lose when we are in the Championship. That's the theory anyway!
