what do you guys think? part of me reckons it would be a good move, so santon can come over to RB and we can sign a proper LB, and we'd still have Raylor as backup). however at the same time i think he's a good player and it would be a shame to let him go, especially to a team who should be fighting out for a similar spot in the table come the end of the season.

He's improved big time for me in the last few weeks/months. Much more reliable than he was last year. Would be stupid to let him go, we're short on defensive options as it is.

despite my belief that shane ferguson is best deployed as a left mid, he deserves a chance to step up, this would be a good platform in which to do that, under the tutoring of raylor.

Mind you, if someone said you've got to give up 1 starting 11 player, it would definitely be Simpson or Obertan. It's a minority who want to sell Ameobi/Best.

Would be a bad idea. How many goal line clearances has he made this season? They're as good as goals scored in my book. His positioning has improved this year too, does well getting forward and is still young enough for his defensive brain/anticipation to improve.

He seems to be enjoying his football again after the unfortunate carry on with his daughter last summer. Recent performances would suggest we keep hold of him. Also, Santon is looking very good at LB I wouldn't want to stop this, he's working well with Jonas.

I'd hope to keep him as he's been improving well this season and he's good competition for his place.

This. 2 against Man U alone.

Also, even if we got a lb who could step immediately into the team, it would be foolish to have no back up besides Raylor.

Bad sale for me. He is very good defender and has been one of our best performers over the last couple of months. I like the idea of him and Santon competing for the right back slot and we'd have a nice balance there. You need different options and Santon as your attacking full back with Simpson as your more defensive one is a good fit. Depends if its down to contract really.

we've also been linked with young RB Nathaniel Clyne today (who's in the last 6 months of his contract)

If they come in with the right price. £4mil - £5mil for a Premier League right back wouldn't be unreasonable

Pretty much this. I'd prefer him to sign a new contract, but if he's not going to, let's sell him and buy Erik Pieters pronto.

Simpson would not be a surplus to requirements. We need a good back up fullback, Raylor is not a good fullback. Simpson is far better.

Well if they can get Clyne in for cheaper than they get for Simpson, they'll see that as good business. I am a stickler for continuity as I think that is the only way to get lasting success and build something worthwhile. But I think we all know they want to make money and this would seem a perfectly good opportunity to do so.
