Rovers are tipped to beat Charlton Athletic to the signing of Ali Koiki, He didn't sign a new contract with Burnley. Released by Crystal Palace as a youngster he went on to spend four years at Burnley before refusing a new contract in the Summer. Koiki is a Left Back
Sam Frost from the Bristol Post has confirmed this is happening. Sounds a good prospect. What does this mean for Leahy and Kelly? Tutonda is undropable right now and this guy Koiki won't be coming in to be 3rd or 4th choice LB. Im sure Leahy won't want to be 3rd or 4th choice either. I have a feeling Leahy will be leaving. Kelly may stay but possibly leave on loan maybe?
Luke Leahy started his footballing life as a left winger I think maybe he will revert to that position Lucas Tomlinson and Kieran Phillips helped Bath and Chippenham to victories in the FA Cup qualifiers but the hero for Chippenham was Will Puddy who scored the winning penalty in the shootout for Chippenham
I know I keep banging on about it but I really do still think that we need another striker. If we include Walker then the average age of our four recognised strikers is 20 and a quarter. Of those only Hanlan has any kind of track record at league level. We could do with another experienced forward. There must be plenty of 30-something league strikers out there looking for a club - Cheltenham found success with Luke Varney (now with Saturday’s opponents Burton) recently, someone like that would fit the bill nicely and would be able to help progress our novice front line. Hopefully the next 30 hours will see someone come in.
Rovers have signed Erhun Oztumer on a season long lone from Charlton Athletic, he is said to be a versatile midfielder
He could be a good signing. I used to like watching him when he played for Walsall - pint-sized, skilful and scored a hatful of goals. Will be interesting to see where he’ll fit in with Garner’s plans. Also, we’ve now got the most cosmopolitan squad I’ve ever seen at Rovers - Finland, Netherlands, Germany, Kenya, Turkey, Congo and even Scotland!
Hey, we've just signed the Turkish Messi! Seriously, he's a great signing. Remember him at Walsall? https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...56453E6813A1BC3AFDBD56453E6813A1B&FORM=WRVORC
Great signing this. I think with the attacking midfielders we have who can play behind the striker, I think we will play with just the 1 striker, meaning Hanlan will probably be the main guy and then we have Daly and Ayunga as back ups and add Walker when needed. Also don't forget we have Nicholson and JML who can also play up front. I think an experienced striker would be handy for sure. However, it won't be the end of the world if we don't get him as we have plenty of cover. My only worry is that we've looked a lot better with 2 up front. But with the midfield that we now have, I can't see how BG will play with 2 up front. We now have 27 in our squad so I now have no idea how they all will fit in. I guess the main 11 will be... ............................Jaakkola............................ ..............Ehmer...Baldwin...Harries............. Hare........Westbrooke...Grant........Tutonda ............Oztumer...............McCormick.......... .............................Hanlan............................. But could just as easily be... ................................JVS............................... .................Little...Kilgour...Davies.............. Rodman.........Upson....Liddle...........Leahy ...............JML......................Nicholson........ ..............................Ayunga........................... And I haven't even mentioned.... Kelly Ogogo Hargreaves Barrett Daly Walker
CJS didn't BG say that Bennett and Agogo were not being registered for the league / cup matches for this season there by their wages were not included under the wage cap,if I am right he told them they were not in his plans for this season
Rovers have completed the signing of Ryan Jones on a 3 year deal from Weston Super Mare. Ryan plays on the left flank and is being loaned back to Weston for the remainder of the season. The fee was undisclosed
You could be right about that old timer. I admit my knowledge about the changes around wages is not great. I just thought their wages count unless they move away.
Alexis-Andre Jr has joined Salisbury on loan until January 9th, Liam Armstrong has been recalled as part of the deal
