Congratulations Lincs. An excellent time in that heat. Just got home & set about replenishing fluids.
I thought you'd already started that in the pub? I went down to Total Fitness and swam a mile - the pool was lovely - and then 20 minutes in the freezing cold plunge pool for the legs. Marvellous...mind you I could have drunk the pool
From 2k to 9k? Seriously, well done. We've been at a football tournament and the temp when I got back in the car was 32. Dread to think what running in heat in the late 20s was like.
Well done Lincs Great charity too And regarding the money raised...Ben did a lot of begging! on his knees..............very similar to his running style actually !
One of the players Mums ran it this morning - I think her time was around the hour mark. She said the heat was stifling.
Well done one and all who made the effort, survived and did their bit for their chosen charity. If you're still running, strolling or crawling to or from the pub...brilliant...
Nowt plastic about the effort made by the participants... ... bloody great to see community spirit in what seems to be tough times..
Well done SCB and Lincs. I've just started to get into running but at the minute I can't get passed 4km without near collapse. I'll get to 10k eventually. I'd like to do one of those Wolf Runs, has anyone on here done one? It's like a 10k but has obstacle courses in it.
Somebody told me that it's best not to stop if you're knackered (unless you've completely finished that is...). So run, then if you're knackered walk a bit then start running again and so on. I think it works.
Pfft easy, we used to do them all the time in the RAF. Wait, I mean I photographed someone doing them. Thinking about it, it mighta been pongos and not RAF lads. Still looked easy. Even with smoke grenades going off.
Did 3 Great North Runs a few years ago. Began training by running between lamp posts on Priory Rd then walking to the next one. Ended up doing my first one in 1h47m can't remember the seconds.
