Back on topic - did anyone actually watch this? No way I would go to the WC in 2018 (if England qualified), bunch of bloody nutters who see it as a matter of pride to want to kick in the English hooligans for being their forefathers in hooliganism? Not one of them seemed to realise that actually our police do a reasonable job of stopping most of our nutters from travelling for such occasions and all they're doing is kicking in the heads of normal fans who at their worst are being drunken gobshites who couldn't kick their way out of a wet paper bag. Enough to send a Chile up your spine (sorry, sorry...)
They must be really gutted when they train up like a squat team for a year in advance, pump theirselves full of steroids & vodka only to find Barry & Phil from Stoke - early-60s with faded bulldog tattoos, rotund bellies and terrible heartburn from too many beers - as their strongest adversaries. Not really a challenge is it? Just the destruction of moving flesh. I'm sure the slurred refrain of 'No surrender' hardly gets the adrenaline pumping. Too much misplaced testosterone all round, get laid or have a **** or something.
I have to admit that I thought the fighting was a little tame. Hand bindings and trainers are not what you would really wear if you knew there would be a fight, are they? Even the you tube vid's did not seen that nasty. Just it all just seemed like one step up from the school playing field fights between Shultz and Cooper.
