They're off in a few hours time and on paper the Yanks will be hot favourites but we've been here before. Some cracking matches to start with...

As a golfing tragic, l like nothing better than watching anything PGA or alike, especially the Majors, Ryder Cup & Presidents Cup.
Of course, anyone who can beat the Yanks has my vote.
Go you Ryder Cup type good thingy!

The ladies Solheim Cup was fantastic viewing but you can't beat The Ryder Cup for suspense and golf at its finest. Be glued, after the r's game of course:smiley-finger007:

Europe massive underdogs on paper, but rankings don't mean so much in this competition and the septics don't seem to get the team ethic like our lot do.

Nice PR move from Harrington yesterday with the team appearing in Green Bay colours and wearing cheeseheads....

I fancy Europe to win it and have had a small interest at 2/1.

Will be alot closer than most experts are predicting, fancy Europe to nick it 14 1/2 to 13 1/2. Europe do have a couple of liabilities in their team but in my eyes the yanks have a couple of chokers who don't play well in team events !

Welcome back Hammy......... don't know why you were blocked from rejoining......

Am I correct in thinking you were a bookie? If so no doubt that will interest one or two on here:emoticon-0100-smile

Looking forward to both the golf and R's tonight, spoilt for choice........

Great picture that ! Thank Christ for the Spaniards so far, Mcilroy the most overated golfer on the planet has been suitably awful so far .

I see choker Rory is choking as usual.
Unusual for Poulter, although unlucky for him being partnered with choker Rory.

How does Patrick Cantlay manage to play golf without a hat on?

Don’t Europe usually shade the foursomes and four balls because the Yanks are such **** team players etc etc.?

It’s a very difficult tournament to predict, but there is a gulf in class and form between these two teams, and it’s not in our favour.

Rahm and Garcia defeat Spieth and Thomas. Much needed with what's happening behind. Just can't agree with the pairings Harrington sent out this morning, looked weak to me from the off and putting Poulter with Mcilroy an awful decision. Still can't believe he left out Rose

    We never win the Foursomes, 2-2 or 2 1/2 1 1/2 would've been a result

Not much he could do early on unfortunately, the places Mcilroy was leaving him in. Like I said Mcilroy consistently ****s up but they still have to show every single shot of his in every tournament no matter what ! If he was sending out Mcilroy pair him with Lowry and Poulter with either Fleetwood or Hatton. Poor management in my eyes as was choosing Lowry over Rose

God knows how many putts Westwood, Casey and Fitzpatrick have missed to win holes so far. I'd like to see these pairings this afternoon.

    Rahm/ Garcia
    Poulter/ Fleetwood
    Mcilroy/ Lowry
    Hatton/ Hovland

That didn't ring true to me, so I looked it up....

    All-Time Team Europe Records (rydercup.com)

Comparison of the United States and Europe Between 1985-2018
    United States Europe
    Wins 5 11
    Tied 1 1
    Matches won 197 241
    Points won 235 269
    Foursome points won 63 81
    Four-ball points won 64½ 79½
    Single points won 107½ 108½

Europe's record is much better in foursomes and four-balls than it is in singles.

We really needed to be winning the foursomes today.

Interesting research, but if you'd looked at the last 6 events the morning foursomes haven't been kind to us !
    2018 3-1 USA
    2016 4-0 USA
    2014 2 1/2- 1 1/2 USA
    2012 2-2
    2010 2 1/2- 1 1/2 USA
    2008 3-1 USA

So it is usual for us to make a slow start, imperative we don't get crushed this afternoon. Harrington needs to cut adrift the bottlers although I think Mcilroy and Lowry could work together. I'm staggered he didn't pair them this morning !

    Wtf. This afternnons Fourballs are
    Johnson/Schauffele v Casey/Wiesberger
    Dechambeau/ Scheffler v Rahm/ Hatton
    Finau/ English v Mcilroy/Lowry
    Thomas/ Cantley v Fleetwood/ Hovland.

Why on earth split up Rahm and Garcia ? Ludicrous. Garcia not even playing or Poulter. Why do these managers feel Mcilroy is undroppable despite form ? I suppose an Irish captain would be lynched if he did though lol
