Macca reckons he was getting to the ball fir the red card anyhow, so wouldn’t have been a goalscoring opportunity, regardless of the fact that IT WASN’T EVEN A FOUL.
Even if he returns to LB if Bertrand is still injured. So much calmness and composure for a 22 year old CB.
I thought Stephens gave close to a MOTM performance at LB. Happy to see KWP, Bedders< Salisu, Stephens at the back next week.
Didn’t get to see much of the game (thanks Saintsplayer) but loving the Supersport pundits (Neil Lennon and Leon Osman) who are waxing lyrical about Saints and Prowsey in particular
Sounds really good, bit tied up with non football stuff so unable to watch. Has to be close to the result of the season to given all the circumstances. Let's just get these last few games over with and see what happens in the summer with all the off field activity.
For it to be a goal scoring opportunity Vardy would have had to do a pretty impressive 90 degree turn as the ball was moving well away from his own direction of travel!
Would rather Salisu had a run in the team now we’re basically safe. Why play Vestergaard if he could quite easily leave this summer? Start looking ahead to next season now.
Well played everyone! Nice to see the lads really dig in instead of going to sleep in the second half like normal. I think the sense of injustice drove them on
This is what hasn’t been explained by Tom or anyone else. Especially in the light of Alex being favourite to get to the ball after Vesty’s toe poke.
Proud of the boys - special mention to Stephens out of position and Che running himself into the ground knowing he would get little reward. Thought we would lose before the match so can’t believe I’m feeling pretty flat having drawn playing with 10 for 80 minutes because football is ruined. 3 problems for me... 1) poor decision to give a red in the first place from the ref. Even without saints goggles on in real time I thought Veste got the ball. Even if Ref thought he didn’t not sure how he was confident enough to give a red. That being said I can forgive the ref - he gets 1 look at it in real time so mistakes are inevitable. It would be great if the ref had some help in the form of other officials and technology. Oh wait... 2) what is the point of a linesman any more? He was in the perfect position to see the incident. Why is he there if he won’t have a word with the ref and say actually I was closer to it, the defender got to the ball. 3) the **** show that is Var. There’s been some piss poor decisions but today is hands down the worst I have seen. I could maybe just about accept if it was given for serious foul play, there’s been some pretty poor similar decisions already but to then find out that var agreed it was denying a goal scoring opportunity... Veste got the ball ffs. anyway UTS proved we have learnt how to play with 10 men and came away with a deserved point.
