This is the latest single by Philly Heartland Rockers, The War on Drugs from their forthcoming album of the same name, I Don't Live Here Anymore...
How could I not love a band who list XTC, Squeeze, Hüsker Dü and Elvis Costello as influences?. They are The Posies who came out of Seattle around the same time as Grunge did but they play in a more melodic Power Pop style and are still around now. This is their fantastic and very heartfelt tribute to the late, great Grant Hart...
I just found this band on Bandcamp and was completely knocked out by them. Cloud of I is the soul child of Yuli Shafiri, an Iraqi-Jewish/Latvian/Lithuanian from Tel Aviv, and they rock.
Just listened to it a couple of times and wow, it just builds and takes you on a psychedelic journey, I love it. thanks for posting Chilcs!
Shamefully late, but Pee Wee Ellis, a giant of jazz, funk, and soul music, died last week at the age of 80. In his time he was musical director for both James Brown and Van Morrison, as well as composing many songs and teaching my mate John to play sax. This was him at Ronnie Scott’s: And here playing a great sax solo with Van the Man: And possibly his best-known song, with Mr Brown: RIP Alfred James “Pee Wee” Ellis 1941 - 2021

Stumbled across this cracker playing some swing dance for Mrs Jab This followed sounds like Joe Cocker.

I’m now being serenaded by Mariah Carey, Wham (yes I’ve encounters Whamageddon early this year), Shaky and that god awful McCartney song …. Is this a Scottish thing? Can someone please help me ….. cotton wool in ears currently ….
Stop complaining, Dave!!! Nothing wrong with a bit of Christmas music in October if it sounds like this....
Just heard about the sad passing of Southampton's very own Greg Gilbert, lead singer, lead guitarist.and songwriter of Delays at the age of 44 from bowel cancer. He had a distinctive falsetto voice and the first album Faded Seaside Glamour is criminally underrated IMO with many wonderful songs. R.I.P. Greg...
