Well, a couple weeks back the papers claimed he had signed a new 5 year deal then he came out and denied it. Now he is rumoured to be wanted by both Madrid and Barcelona... it would be great to see - even better if we put a 10% clause in
Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to go head-to-head in a mammoth bid to tempt manager Jurgen Klopp and Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk, 28, away from Liverpool. (AS, via Star)
We would have been mad not to put a clause in, we had them bent over a barrel with the whole tapping up thing. However, based on some of Les Reed' s work, he probably inserted a clause that we have to pay them 10%
Not sure what you are referring to, I'd imagine he was well thought of in the St Mary's corridors following the biggest transfer in our club history. And I was relying on you being a solid character reference - I always thought we got on so well on here. Maybe I got that bit wrong. Did i? How could I get those messages mixed up so bad? Damn. I feel like I need somebody to hug now
I am glad your first sentence has clarified what you meant. PS Don't rely on me for anything I don't do favours, kindness or generosity.
I dont speak Turkish but it looks like Lemina only lasted 30 minutes on his first match for Galatasaray before going off with a stomach problem.
That boy doesn't have the stomach for hardwork. He'll be back here before long costing us more money.
Quote from Alan Pardew talking about his time at Saints. ''I went to Southampton, which had the greatest owner that there could ever have been. Unfortunately, he was poorly, and Nicola Cortese was the chief executive who ran the football club''.
Yes, Pardew admitted that. ''He was a fiery character, and I have no problem saying that we had some real clashes. We had an unbelievable team. We didn’t quite make the play-offs, and the next year, Cortese – I could tell I’d lost him somewhere along those clashes – he was a young chief executive and I was hungry to get back to the Premier League; it was too much going on''.
The thing we will never know is would we have got promotion under Pardew? We had a good team, so I think we would have certainly got out of League 1 the next season, but after that who knows. Doesn't help if the relationship between Chief Exec and the manager breaks down, so under those circumstances it's the manager who leaves.
Pards had upset/lost a few players as well. Fonte didn't like him. I fully understand NC's decision now. Nigel, well that sacking still upsets me..............even though I appreciate how clever the move was. We might not have got us relegated, but he wouldn;t have taken us further.
