Another important fact about our current run of form is that our goal difference is slowly improving and there are now 6 teams with a worse GD. Not bad when you consider a certain home game against Leicester.
I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago and was shot down. But take away 9-0 and substitute it for say 3-1 or 2-0 and we would have a good GD
A bit of tactical discussion. Here's our season so far - Double 6 is basically another way of saying 4222 or double pivot. We had a decent enough start in the games where we played 4 at the back but 6 thru 12 is best forgotten along with the 3-5-2 flat formation. Interesting that we got a result at wolves with 3-4-2-1. Wonder what ralph will do for the return leg next week.
Taking a look at our lineups for the first 10 there was some serious 'management' being done on a game by game basis. The lack of consistency so early in the season is probably what did us in. That and the players just not being up to it adaptability-wise. That 9-0 tho
The 8 goals scored in the last game by our women's team. Not maligning them (as obviously we have a good side) but because we are a relatively new team, we are in the wrong league....a PL side playing in League 1 if you like.
Note to Ralph. The number 2 is quick, scored and can cross the ball. Show this video to Cedric, especially the crossing bit.
https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/1...d-prowse-danny-ings-ralph-hasenhuttl/?ref=rss JWP talking about Ings and England and the Leicester game. Confirms what Ralph said after the match....the manager showed the team a video of the 9-0 thrashing with motivational additions prior to the game.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51100705 Ian Wright thinks Ings deserves an England call up. Not sure if this is the right thread though, should it go in here, the general football one (as it is England), the off topic (any of the 5 as it isn't Saints) or maybe a new thread that we can sticky titled "Ings for England"
