I don't think you'll find many agreeing with you Ashby, but it's a game of opinions <ok>. I think he'll be in the England senior team soon.

We are now 10 points clear of the relegation places. That feels weird.

Edit: Not getting the drop on No7 but that team 10 points behind us is WHU. We are better than them. We will beat them next week.

Our new RB doesn't look like a weakling to me. You don't have to be tall to be strong. Look at Shane Long.

The term "Ale House Brawlers" was always intended as an insult btw.

I'm a little torn on this. It infuriates me watching a team benefiting from ganging up on the ref, and constantly getting in his ear. But on the other hand it makes me proud that we seem to be different, and show great amounts of control in such circumstances. The refs should reward good behaviour, not the opposite.

Another Mark Dennis would be amazing and terrifying at the same time.

For who? Palpitations each time he made a tackle. What about a Graeme Le Saux, though?

It’s not as if we are a dirty team so this either means that the refs are getting it wrong and penalising us every time a player falls over, or we are becoming a bit more “professional” and conceding a few free kicks to disrupt the flow of the opposition.
I would like to think that it is the latter.

Surprisingly not. My PFC player would be Neil Webb.

I would also add Steve Wiliams, Alan Ball, Nicholas Holmes, Phil Boyer and Ted McDougall, and Guly who was just glided so smoothly over the pitch at SMS.

Didn't Ralph say he wanted us to be horrible to play against? Looks like the boys have taken that on board.

My favourite Portsmouth players were Mike Channon and Antti Niemi.
