On the Saints web site, in the section: https://www.southamptonfc.com/matchready/match-ready There is a section called: 2. Download the NHS COVID Pass app In this section there's a sentence that says: "If you are vaccinated you can present an official letter or email from the NHS (or your local equivalent, if you are visiting from outside of England) confirming your vaccinated status." The important bit here is "IF you are vaccinated". I spent quite a bit of time searching through the NHS web site to find the relevant bit, that allows you to enter your details and to apply for a covering letter. I now have said letter, but it is not a rapid process, as the letter has to be posted to you. So, there is a 'process', but it is interminably slow
This will be the requirement from October 1st, but they are trialling it now. So I assume for these games until October 1st if you don't have the pass or test results, you'll still be allowed in?
S Myself and the wife applied for those letters the other week as extra proof of vaccine status for when we went to Spain a couple of weeks back. After application we received the letters within 5 days.
Spiderman, the link to the relevant part of the NHS website is: "https://covid-status.service.nhsx.nhs.uk/ ".
I may have misheard the commentator, for the Spurs v Man City game last Sunday, but I thought he said that the combined value of the City bench was something like £347 or £374 million. At the lowest figure, the average cost per player is around £38.5 million. At the higher figure it is £41.5. I believe our highest transfer fee paid out is £20 million for Ings. Definitely not a level playing field.
I think they said the total value of the City squad that day was a billion (may have been in euros). But yeah it isn’t a level playing field and all feels a bit pointless really
My season ticket just arrived. Won’t be using it on Sunday though - I just tested positive for the plague. I’m double vaccinated btw. Oh well.
I’m fully against this bollocks. Im vaccinated but this whole totalitarian thing governments are doing is starting to scare me. If covid is bad enough to worry with these stupid measures, football shouldn’t allow fans. I’m surprised everyone is accepting this all so calmly actually. Everyone is giving up a lot of freedoms right now.
Well if you're fully vaccinated like most people over 18 will be soon then you've got nothing to worry about. I hope it's not so black and white however. There are people who have genuine reasons for not having the vaccine which should be exempt and just need to provide evidence of a negative test.
Nice you got your ticket, but sorry to hear about the COVID. In other ticket news, I renewed mine back in June and on Saturday I bought one for my Dad. His arrived today as a paper ticket with a note saying that his ticket will be printed soon and this paper ticket is to cover the one came. Mine still isn't here. Nor my car parking.
I agree with both of you. To me I don't give two hoots about showing I am double vaxed on an app, though i get some feeling this as a taking away of freedoms. It is what it is though and IMO nothing sinister in it - just trying to make life normal again after so long locked down. At least none of us are women in Afghanistan. Sorry no politics, but puts it into perspective a bit.
I actually think what we are seeing is becoming sinister. I don’t think governments should have the right to force anyone to undergo medical procedures or prove their health status to access places. Not the place or time for this discussion in this thread so I won’t say any more other than the powers we are giving to western governments could be a slippery slope, and once freedoms and rights are given away we will never get them back. Back to footy and quite frankly I am terrified of this United team, they look extremely strong.
Agreed (on all the above) but I am a wait and see type of person. For all the above The irony is that we are all moaning about tickets not here and needing proof that we are 'safe'. Probably the best thing we can do is not go as I really don't want to experience two 9-0 in my life.
Yeah, probably l. I know a few people who’ve tested positive with mild symptoms after being vaccinated. So either the vaccine is completely useless, or it’s saved lots of people from getting really ill. I’m also lucky in that my employer will pay me while I’m isolating. I’ve already spoken to a couple of people I’ve been in contact with, and they both said they’d better not test positive because they can’t afford not to work.
