Means I’m never disappointed I’d say I’m more of a realist than a pessimist, probably not an optimist
Define 'overly' I think the word 'comfortable' may just push it into the overly category and the numbers 3 and 0 in that order don't help
Due to the fickle nature of football fans (and media) the reaction to this game will be one extreme or the other. If we lose or draw it will be doom and gloom, 0 wins in 6 games - something we haven't done since 1998! Ralph out. If we win, then you'll hear things like unbeaten in 5 games, including points against both Manchester sides. Sitting comfortably mid table after Everton, City & United in our opening 5 games - what a start! Not all our fans included in this by the way, but certainly a fair few will be!
The results have been extremely impressive this season as I thought that the Wolves match would probably mark the time in the season where we would frst accummulate points. Without doubt, we have been thrown some awkward fixtures to commence 21/22 and I just feel that picking up points against the likes of both Manchester ckubs have been a bonus. As for tomorrow, I feel that this is when out season will kick off. I am going for a 2-0 win but in a game where we manage to miss a hatfull of chances. To repeat what I have said previously, Wolves will go down this year.
But I think that’s fair though. We’re not likely to get a result from Chelsea as they look very, very good this year. If we get beaten this weekend it won’t define our season but it would be hard to look at the start of the season as a success if we go into the October break without a win. I don’t have fears for our season. I think the summer was very positive and we’re positioned well. I think there’s a lot of good things about the club right now and although progress towards the vision has been slow, we can all see the thinking and it makes sense. If we do win against Wolves, then it looks like a very good start from a tricky set of games. Wolves look there for the taking. They are finding their feet and have obvious issues with their attack. We’ve got a shocking history against them though! Wouldn’t surprise me if we were disappointed! Coincidentally, we got our first win of last season on the 26th. It may be that we’re due!
Oh turtally. For sharks. Dolphinately. But I think it would be a down start to the season for a new group, working hard on the pitch and in training, to not have had a win by that point.
But if all of your predictions became reality, Saints would finish bottom of the table with 0 points and a -50 GD!...
“more of” , it’s not an exact science. If the optimists were right then we’d be good winning loads of games, I’d say I’m closer to reality
I don't believe that optimists believe that we will win every match but I've yet to see you predict anything other than a Saints loss.
Moment of shame. Thought the game was today and got the train to southampton. Tried to look up the teams when arriving at southampton airport parkway and see kick off was tomorrow. Lovely 2 hour trip back to london. Now to make the same journey again tomorrow.
At least you didn’t drive and end up queueing 45 mins for petrol too! Did you at any point question why no other fans were on the train?
Years ago we travelled up to a midday London game from the land of Mush. Just after we kicked off a mate texted me to say he had got a ticket and was on the train up so we should meet. I pointed out that the game had already started. He’d forgot to check and thought it was a 3pm ko You are not alone
Not been a good sporting weekend so far. W have been destroyed in the ryder cup, AJ comfortably beaten by Usyk and I'velost every bet ive placed on the football. Now relying on Saints to deliver the goods!
There's your answer: Bet on Saints to lose. Your losing streak with the betting will continue, and Saints will win (although it will probably end in a draw)
