So, here we go. My first match thread – please be gentle: The mighty Saints look forward to the second leg of the South Coast ‘non-Derby’ match. Having clipped the Seagull’s wings in December, culminating in the most useless, flightless bird since the Dodo, we aim to help their flight towards full extinction from the Premier League. Finally, a quote from my avatar… "The proof is in the pudding, and the pudding, in this case, is football. Booof, eat my goal. The goalie has got football pie all over his shirt!" COYR!!!

*** pedant alert ***....Nothing to do with the match, but I beg to differ on the Floyd's Dark side of the moon debut - according to Wikipedia its first full live performance was at the Guildhall, Portsmouth on 21 January 1972. I was there, on a rare trip over from the Island - great gig, despite being in Portsmouth! As for Sunday, I am looking forward to a good win from an almost full strength Saints COYR!!! Slightly embarrassed edit: On another Wikipedia page, it seems that they played most of Dark Side in Brighton the day before the Portsmouth gig but interrupted it at "Money" because of technical issues. Apologies to Lambertissier.
Had to post it...I love it when he says "and another" when the player kicks the ball in the net again after the goal...
No worries, i was at the mercy of the internet, so didn't take it personally. Happy to hear that though, as I'd much rather Pompey didn't have the association with the premier of such a historic piece of music!
Thanks, i haven't worked out how to add video clips, otherwise would have posted the same one. Funny as!
****ing hell. In my day you were lucky to get a kiss good night on your first date never mind a night in a hotel room in Brighton.
Well, the train table on the way down there was really grubby, the hotel room hadn't been cleaned to Mrs LBT's standards and the litter on the beach the next day was terrible - proper dirty night away!!
My “interesting Brighton story” happened just after Brighton opened its nudist beach in 1980. We were playing rugby away to Lewes, which meant driving right past Brighton. This was January 81, from memory. It was a foul day, raining and very blowy. After the game and a couple of sherbets we were driving back to Havant in convoy at about 7pm when some wag announced “Brighton has a nudist beach! Let’s go for a dip”. So we detoured and about a dozen or so of us parked up, threw off our clothes and dived into the water ....... instantly sobered up, we shivered and grumped our way back to the cars and then had to stop on the way back at a pub to “warm up” .... The one and only time I’ve been on Brighton beach ..... can’t say I was impressed. Bit stony and I never saw any other nudists ......
Big game this, not quite as important as the Sheffield United game but still part of this current run of season defining games. Normally I wouldn't think a draw would be an awful result but following the disaster of 8 losses from 9, I get the feeling anything less than 3 points will be met with a very negative reaction. Prediction 1-1.
