Fluency can take decades, and many people technically aren't even fluent in their native langauage. A conversational understanding is attainable in several months though.

But footballers don't all need to be like Valdes delivering inspirational speeches to the U21s he's playing with

Half the 'innit' population of London aren't fluent and they've lived here most their lives...still better than Wenger though

extremely pedantic if fluency means speaking like a toff. i means ok wayne rooney is a perfect example of a guy who can barely speak english but let me put it this way..... he is a lot more conversational that the guys i just had dinner with in Germany.

Pochettino at spurs has been how long in england now? 1.5 to 2 years... sounds like he can barely string two words... that unacceptable to me.

fluency... grand but i can tell you if you move for a job as an educated man you cannot act like a footballer or with respect a worker in an asian resturant as a stereotype. tevez was good example... speaking spanish at home and at work, failing to even try. if an engineer did that theyd be fired

    This chump can't play football.

Why if you wanted to create a passing side who bring the ball out from the back would you pay nearly £20m for this big clumsy oaf?

Lol, so you're havjng a go at him on the back of this match?

I suggest you watch him a lot more to see how good he is.

Agreed - he misplaced a few passes but he always looking to play forward but had no options. He got dispossessed a couple of times even though they should have been called as fouls.

Ultimately - he defended well which was the key thing, which is a defenders first second and third job

  10. You got two players too press and harass him and you still only got the ball because he tried to do too much <laugh>

Same for Can on the other side. Fair play to Everton for employing that tactic, it worked.

I've never seen him have a good game when I've watched you lot, maybe I've just been unlucky eh....

He was the weak link in your defence and it was obvious first half that we were targeting him and nearly got some joy from it.

Perhaps you're too hung up on a players style and what he looks like rather than his actual ability, as are most fans and pundits.

And you also targeted Can as well - quite righty because these two are our ball playing defenders.

The issue is that our defence didn't have any options and last night was a rare case of us just passing it pointlessly around the back 3.

No. We forced you to play the ball out via Sakho, as we got tight to Can and Skrtel and also blocked the DM's, but left Sakho free, knowing that he's useless on the ball.

Lol you FORCED us to play the ball out to Sakho? I'm guessing you haven't watched us for the past 2 months because you would realise that Can and Sakho are the ball playing defenders that we play through - Skrtel is the weak link of the defence and he's one who should have been given time.

That was retarded. We always play the ball out from Sakho anyway. Who came up with that one?

Yeah we did, it was ****ing obvious, especially in the first half. The keeper had no option but to use him, and he invariably did **** all with it and nearly came a cropper on 2 or 3 occasions. If he's your ball playing CB then you've got some major issues <laugh>

Tobes falling into the trap that a lot of pundits do in that because Sakho looks a bit gangly and awkward on the ball he must be crap....

ignoring the fact his passing accuracy is top notch and he actually passes the ball with pace into the midfield to help start attacks.

We we all know the defence has improved since him and Can have flanked Skrtel so not sure why even bothering to justify his inclusion and talent to Tobes who Prob thinks Distin and Alcarez are better players <ok>

we can all agree he's no Stones though right :bandit:

No surprise that we've given him time in the team that defensively we've improved massively. Would like to see how many goals we've conceded from a cross coming from his side because I don't think it would be many.

    Fallen into a trap? <laugh>

Have a ****ing word with yourself.

No mate, I used my eyes to ascertain that he's a ****ing big clumsy twat on the ball. We didn't test him enough to see how decent or otherwise he is as a defender.
