I think we've got a good professional group when it comes to negotiations, deffo an upgrade on Donald etc who were probably just winging it. If we only have to pay 2mil we've got a bargain and a half.
With some owners you'd suspect bullshyte but I totally believe KLD will really go for Sanderson ... ... he knows this will sell season tickets and enthuse people.
2 million is a damn good price i think...i never thought we would even attempt to sign him but if this is true it makes a big statement.
To be fair they said talks were held but no decision had been made. I'd expect the club to review the performance of the manager at the end of every season.
This will be a test of the new setup. In years gone by, if a bid was rejected we'd give up and buy someone else. Usually a poorer player. If we can't get this lad permanently we should be looking to loan him again. There should already be a loan slot earmarked for him.
Not the only source... https://the72.co.uk/237783/transfer...uddersfield-town-sheffield-united-linked-man/ And another... https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...-dion-sanderson-bid-dominates-sunderland-news Time will tell
They do however have a director of football who may do something dependent upon what path the club are going down. Given their well known links with a major agent they may choose to buy the ready made Portuguese CB and release a young lad. Who knows
I'd go as far to say that Sanderson would be the best signing we've made since Defoe if we can get him here permanently. I know that's not huge praise but it would be a big statement of intent and a sign of things to come as well as proving KLD 100% means business. I wouldn't even haggle, if they want 2 million I'd give them it double quick and run away... Run away as fast as I could...
Agreed..I'm still not expecting anything to happen in regards to transfers until the end of June when most contracts are paid up.
Season long loan is the most likely imo, perhaps with an option to buy if we get promotion. Hope the lad enjoyed the set up here and wants to give it another try.
It's certainly a possibility but Sanderson would have to sign a further extension to his contract at Wolves, only one year left. If the loan was successful I suspect that he may cost us more money and that other clubs would be interested. Unless we get first refusal at a set fee
Pretty sure his contract expires at the end of this year. It will be a permanent move for him or nothing at all.
