A meeting of Premier League clubs has decided that an immediate donation of £20m will be made to the NHS.

A further £125m has been donated to the EFL and National League, to support clubs who are likely to suffer financial difficulties in the coming weeks.

Yes, it's been coming. Covid just the final straw. It was always good for perfumes though (for xmas presents, for somebody else, honest...)

That bottom right graph for Nembro is the town I mentioned in a post earlier on where the death rate over the first quarter was several times that of any other year, despite only a fraction of those extra being covid-19 deaths.

Leicester royal infirmary has converted all its theatres to makeshift coronavirus ICU wards and is almost at capacity.

 

Will it be the Allams? They're good at burying going concerns.

I can't claim to really understand much of it to be honest.

On one of the links from there, one of them reckons there's been a hell of a lot of cancellations of phone contracts in China, which they seem to be implying points to much, much greater numbers of deaths compared to what's been declared. Could be a load of made up bollocks mind.

 

It’s impossible to say with China. The reported figures are, quite clearly, a complete pile of ****e. But they still have messages around their hospitals warning staff and patients that speaking to any ‘outsiders’ about anything that goes on would be considered ‘politically aggressive’.

I think it was posted on this thread that one Wuhan doctor got word out to a journalist that all morgues, including the temporary makeshift morgues, had been filled to capacity and estimated about 40,000 deaths in Wuhan alone.

 

Or a lot of people fed up with their phone contracts
