When you're close to tears remember
    Someday it'll all be over
One day we're gonna get so high
    Though it's darker than December
What's ahead is a different colour
One day we're gonna get so high

I’m no Lighthouse Family fan( far from it) but
    those lyrics are worth reading.

    Someday it’ll all be over.

Please note , I have consumed a hefty wedge of my stashed Malbec and may regret quoting the above in the morning.

I also do not condone getting ‘high’ unless it’s delivered by legal means.

    I’m not Pete Doherty.

It will go on longer than 12 weeks
Not actually seen much news but I wasn’t aware anyone has suggested it would be over in twelve weeks?

    First wave becoming managed maybe?

The money will be borrowed and the debt wrapped up and packaged as long-dated bonds (probably 50 year) and traded on the financial markets over the next 5 decades. Considering how low interest rates are and how cheap for an A-rated institution to borrow money, its not a bad time to announce this spending.

I'd like to see key service workers and front line jobs being paid better and companies, large and small, that have acted badly - price gouging and laying off staff, be punished by losing future custom.

You know what It’s the poorly paid care workers who need a pay rise
I’ve got a friend high up in social services and he said they are asking for more shifts as most have had their husbands laid off from work and need the money
They look after the most vulnerable in society and are paid a pittance and are completely undervalued

Totally agree. I couldn't believe it when my mum was required to go into an old folks home - the staff were overworked & underpaid, yet did the job always with a smile. It did cost my sister and myself a substantial annual wad, yet I doubt much went to the staff level in the system ?
I wonder how much of a hike in income tax plus corporate tax would be needed to alleviate the disparity in salaries such an important service would be required ? One way or another it affects everyone in the long run.

My missus works in care, just minimum wage and a lot of work, but she loves it better than her previous admin role for nhs. They have also said they might need to go into lockdown meaning staff have to stay, but they've been told that they would have to sleep on the floor as no room to put them up yet alone anywhere to shower etc.
    Crazy times

Does that factor in children who have a tendency to rip off a long roll of 10-15 sheets, screw it up onto a giant ball and chuck it down. Repeat up to 20x.
