What an odd race that was but you must be happy enough with that. How do you feel about ten appointment of Pulis for The Owls mate?
Well done, mate. I've done an acca and trebles on Robbie Powers 4 rides today. You could make a strong case for every one of them.
Need to watch the replay bud (only had audio) but he has real stamina and slick jumping - just what you need for the Triumph Hurdle. I was a bit sceptical about Pullis but talking to my brother yesterday, we agreed he will at least give them a kick up the arse and get them fit. When Wilkinson was manager he used to have the squad running round Bolsterstone, close to where I grew up in Deepcar. Never lacked for fitness that team
Well done Oddy, have followed you with him the last twice now, thought he was going to pull up when 5 lengths stone last and being bumped along. Wonder what price he was in running at that poin?
I just watched the replay and it did look a strange race - they clearly went off far too quickly in front and he outstayed them. I would say that's about as soft as he would want it to be honest but his jumping was good again (slightly wrong at the last) and he stayed on very well up the hill. Happy with my 33/1 e/w ticket on him for the Triumph (he is now vying for favouritism at between 12s and 16s) but I fancy Elliot might now put him away for the spring. He is a resolute horse but I don't think he wants a real hard slog on heavy ground. I guess a couple of really good 4YOs will come out between now and March but I think he can run a big race in the Triumph and certainly has place prospects at least.
Hello good folk of not606, hope all is well. Just one bet for me today, on what is a busy sporting day in my household. IL Courra 17/2 - Punchestown 3.45 Best of luck all.
15:55 Cheltenham (Mares' Bumper) - Uncanaver (Impressive winner 24-days ago at Fontwell. Trainer Honeyball knows how to produce bumper winners. Has booked Harry Cobden to ride his charge.)
Had to have another look at that race on video replay. Amazing performance from Coole Code, and a spectacular ride from stand-in jockey Tom O'Brien (one of my favourite jockeys, for sure). CC seemed to be more interested in the roots of a fence than the top? One of the most incredible Cheltenham races I have ever watched. CC and Tom seemed to take no notice of the errors and just kept on and on and on................till they had won! to both horse and rider!
Far from it. I'm a Sunderland supporter and Power has just scored the first goal for us. He's normally about 14/1. I should have been all over that today
In the last at Lingers the top two are hard to split but skybet go 4 places so at 20/1 I'm going ew on BURMESE WALTZ. No form on turf but interesting on the aw with 2 wins and a second.
