for Chris Chilton, one of my all time heroes, who is currently very poorly in hospital. Get well very soon Chillo.
Real old fashioned number 9. As a young lad years ago always looked a giant on the pitch. Fight on Chillo.
Agreed always a gentleman no problems autographs even went round to his house near the ground to get them.A hardman as well Sproatleys ownGet well soon
Get well soon Chris, one of my childhood hero's. P.S. Very strange, when I saw the thread heading, last night I was listening to Aretha Franklin sings that.
When football was proper football and centre forwards of Chilton's calibre would be worth a fortune today, get well soon Chillo you were a part of my youth and my history.
Went to that game. Finally got there after the Breadcrumbs In Turn Ups furore in Sleaford and being stopped again to be searched outside Norwich before the police decided the best place to drop us off was outside their kop end. Only our coach and a supporters one and a few cars there. Good night out on the way back. Another weekend where Chris Chilton was part of it being a good one. Get well soon, Chris.
What a great example of how good that team was. Even Mally Lord was good that day. Get well soon Chillo.
Chris was the first person I interviewed for a book I'm writing at the beginning of last year. I was utterly terrified and it must have shown. Chris was amazing - kind, generous with his time, friendly, courteous, supportive - all the things you could want him to be. His supportive nature and kind words gave me real encouragement to carry on with it. I used to play against his son a fair bit too as a schoolboy, who was a terrific player but completely without ego. A credit to his old man. Get well soon Chris. I never had the privilege of seeing you play, but you're still an absolute hero to me.
