Question. If some Rich , senior old guy, has a much younger lady, junior to him, for his pleasures, what is the general comment, from us males at least? I can only speak for myself, of course, but, assuming we are talikin about consenting adults, 'LUCKY BEGGAR' springs to mind. But if instead it's a younger male, there tends to be a lot of fuss. Double standards.???? And I'm with you. Other peoples priveate live are no concern of mine, as long as no laws are being broken. (Added to keep the PC Brigade quiet).
If you research on YouTube videos involving PS, going back months, there's been comments saying about "cover ups", "he's hiding a secret" how he's a "wrongun". I remember watching something a good few years ago about how "Celebs" including him would go to clubs in Essex and get up to all sorts, but the staff new to say nothing and it was well before camera phones.
What if the young female was 15 when the older guy started ,er, doing "favours" for her. Even if things only then became intimate when she turned 16, I'm sure there's a word for that.
I believe that the word you are seeking may be 'GROOMING'. However as Groming is an offense you will understand that this wasn't what I was refering too.. Even as long as sixty years ago, when I was in The RAF, I saw a number of examples of NCO's getting 'lucky' with members of The WRAF. As far as I was aware, complsion was never any part of any of these arrangements. I am talking about adults doing what comes naturaly. And in this specific case, where we have a senior male who I assume to be aged about sixty, I understand that the younger person was a work collegue. Do TV companies employ children who are under 16 and who should be at School?
Of course there are double standards, we're only supposed to pretend there aren't. Men are still more likely to be inheritors, wealthy from their work or powerful in different ways. Women are unfairly hampered by the demands of childbirth and chikdcare ... ... that may be unjust and primeval but it exists, sorry but it's true. I'm as guilty as anyone of double standards and being judgemental. It makes me laugh out loud when people lecture me and say 'you should never judge a book by its cover'. Don't be fiicking ridiculous, that's often all we have and, quite often, that cover is deliberately contrived to tell people how to see them. It works better with some people than others and, ironically, people's cover can send out a totally different message than what they believe they're sending. Try working the door of a 2000 capacity club without judging books by covers ... ... "Can we have a little 'getting to know you time' before I decide whether or not you can come in"
Not if it was someone who met the female when they were well under age befriended them got them close to them and promised the help of their power and influence to get the jobs and opportunities they wanted. It's morally wrong even if no laws were broken, which is still not known we only have his word that nothing illegal happened, no matter if it was a younger woman or man it's wrong.
Sorry mate, I forgot what thread I was on and totally missed your point ... ... just ignore all that shyte on the last response
Ranj Singh chipping in with allegations of a toxic culture. Says he was phased out after raising concerns. Axe to grind, or grist to the mill?
I watched something years ago about a club in Essex where all the celebrities used to go well before mobile phones. Never said what went on but it was a "safe place" free of journos.Schofields name was mentioned and I remember thinking "oh aye".
First sentence in the BBC interview - 'I think I know how Caroline Flack felt' - tells us everything we need to know. Utterly cynical attempt at manipulating public opinion.
He regrets being found out. I can’t say I’ve ever watched anything he’s been in. I can’t seem to muster any interest in his demise.
No idea why it's getting so much press coverage. If there's a chance he broke the law, fair enough, but there is no sign of criminal proceedings. Thought we were beyond this now.
It now just looks like its being used as a distraction away from the political shambles with the covid enquiry.
Completely agree. Not excusing what he's done - clearly a wrong un - but is it in the public interest to keep haranguing him. My local MP is banned from the houses of Parliament after being accused of several counts of rape. Because its a criminal investigation there's been nothing in the press. Meanwhile he still does door to door things and is 'working'.
It's all very strange isn’t it ... ... none of his interview makes a pick of sense. Why is he saying that having a very brief fling with an adult is 'unforgivable'?
They seem to dig themselves deeper holes every time they open their mouths. I would like him much more if he said, I’ve done nothing wrong so you can all just f uck off you bunch of t wats. That’s of course if he hasn’t done anything wrong.
From what he's said he's done absolutely nothing wrong. So why would he have just committed suicide if not for his daughters. Why has he provided a solictor to the other bloke. Why does he believe TV will be any worse off without him.
